A wonderful stay
This hotel was truly a gem. When we arrived we were greeted with a nice drink and the staff was very friendly. It is truly a mountain paradise. The rooms were gorgeous and clean and the grounds were simply heavenly. We were taken on a golf cart to our room and the pool area and breakfast was more than anyone can expect. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and always recognized us and waved when we passed. We felt part of a family. The internet service was great and when someone was on the internet, we were given a small apple mini laptop to check email, etc. The only negative thing was the toilet. It kept clogging up on us. Not sure what was the issue. The restaurant on the premises is WAYYYYYYY too pricey. For the food quality, they definitely should charge less. Eat there for their free breakfast buffet. Its delicious. But eat elsewhere for dinner.

If you plan on eating at the restaurant on the premises, be prepared to pay at least $50 per person. My friend and I went for dinner not expecting to pay over $100 for our meals combined and when the bill came. WOW. And the food wasn't that spectacular to be charging that much of crazy prices for it.

BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY, BEAUTIFUL CABINS
This is a spectacular property with beautiful views, extraordinary cabins, and I have to mention the unusual bathrooms with waterfall shower, separate massage shower, jacuzzi tub, and all in a rain forest atmosphere. You won't find anything like it anywhere. The view of the volcano is beyond words. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing that is lacking is the food. The breakfast buffet was inedible. What was supposed to be hot was cold and vice versa. They need a chef to oversee food operations. Everything else was so nice that I recommend the hotel, just don't eat there. Go into to town.

Gorgeous and unbelievably helpful
Beautiful rooms, staff amazing. My husband left his jacket with wallet in the pocket and by the time we got to Monteverde the staff had already sent in to us with a courier. Couldn't have asked for more. Check out the bathrooms

Very bad Stay not recomended at all
The hotel lacks any standard and should not be rated at all . They have 3 person staff that does everything and that also not properly. The front desk to bellmen to room service all are done by same person after long wait every time. My first visit to CR I would never go again to CR this has left a bad taste hotels like this should not be run or licensed. Showers take 30 mins to get hot water no internet working and no one can fix it .

aamzing location
if you like the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, this is your hotel. you will have your peace & quiet with an amazing view. if you want excitement; canopy, canoeing & other adventures are near by. However, this hotel lacks in-room refrigerator & dressers. overall, this is my best trip.

Fantastic
We checked in and the staff gave us cold towels and fresh fruit juice. We were escorted to our room and given all the details. I loved the location and the hotel offered a shuttle to town and back throughout the day. The room was great...a little villa with a california king, private jacuzzi tub and 2 waterfall showers. I agree with others about the restaurant. It is over priced and the food is not that great. Eating in town was much better. Overall, I loved Mountain Paradise and would stay again!

Incredible Location, Excptional Value
Hotel Mountain Paradise was amazing. The views of Arenal Volcano are second to none. The grounds are lovely with great landscaping. The restaurant was nice, a bit over priced though. The staff at the hotel was very friendly. The draw backs would be the shuttle service and heated pool. There is a schedule for the service, but the drivers never seemed to care about the guests they always kept waiting. The pool was heated in a tropical location which I did not seem to understand. If it were kept cool it would have been much better. Aside from that the 6 nights spent could not have been more relaxing and romantic. A must stay in the La Fortuna area!

The La Fortuna area has to be one of the best adventure retreats in Costa Rica and this hotel is close enough to the main town while being just far enough to be tucked away for relaxation after an adventurous day on the river or hiking the volcano trails.

Hotel Mountain paradise
We were quite happy with the location and the surroundings although more clear signs for hotel at the entrance would be helpful. We were very concern about the emergency situation occured at night. We had to get in touch with some one in USA after 10.oopm for true emergency. no one was available to help at desk.no internet availble also. We had to drive out at midnight and next door receptionist at Hotel nayara helped us. We were very concern and some one should look into it. no phone lines were working after 10.00 pm. ofcoursr we do not mind paying for the service. Food can be better. no vegetqarian entrees were available. otherwise very nice location. PS. next door guy didi not even charge for the phone access. please do something about this situation. Nice place to stay no doubt. Smita
