Respecting nature

A wonderful stay. This is a place for individuals and families that have an appreciation for nature and the environmnet. The restaurant food was fresh and delicious. The staff courteous and pleasant. We appreciated very much being able to spend time with Christian to educate us on the area, the animals and preservation focus. The downside was noise of fellow visitors and those visitors that were in the wrong place, unable to respect the animals and goals of facility - we were saddened to see this. We would love to return. Thank you

gorgeous, but overrated

The hotel was gorgeous, but definitely overrated. In the future I would stay somewhere else. There were plenty of other hotels in the same price range that had more to offer. It was about a 30 minute drive away from La Fortuna, Arenal volcano and all activities. It was $30 for a hike of their grounds. They told me it was ‘cheap’. I find that expensive for an hour and half- especially when it’s on site. This was the only thing to do at the hotel. The bungalow is amazing. Very relaxing. Nature all around you. The room didn’t have a TV, phone or air conditioner. None of this was a problem for us. The room is still very cool. Some nights we were even cold. It was raining most of the time so we couldn’t really enjoy the hotel grounds. The restaurant food was surprisingly good; their staff was very friendly & accommodating.

Great out of the way place

We had a very nice time here but it is way out of the way if you don't have a vehicle. We did find things to do on the property. Visiting the garden and talking with the gardener, Marvin is a must. The night tour with Christian was very good. The restaurant does not have enough variety and the prices are too high for what you get. Would recommend the hotel to friends after telling the pros and cons. Beautiful grounds.

Awesome hotel, feels like the real Costa Rican experience!

The hotel and the staff were great! It was located right in the midst of the rain forest. We saw tons of animals just walking around the property. The food was delicious as well. The hotel has its own farm and much of the food produced from the farm was used in guest meals. A few suggestions, the property is about 2 km off the highway on a BUMPY road, I would suggest an SUV. Also the security in the rooms are limited (no safe, open windows) I wouldn't bring anything valuable.
