The location of the hotel sets it apart from other rain forest resorts because it provides guests with so many things to do. The hotel is situated in one of the most biologically diverse areas of Costa Rica - physically located in the eastern foothills of the Monteverde National Park, near the Arenal volcano, and adjacent to the International Children's Rain Forest Reserve.
As far as recreation goes, guests can choose from nature hikes on rainforest trails, horseback riding, water rafting, fishing and water sports, to name just a few of the myriad activities available. There are also ample opportunities for ecotourists, birdwatchers, naturalists, and adventure seekers alike to see a wide variety of exotic plants and animals: white-faced monkeys, keel-billed toucans, blue morpho butterflies, and poison-dart frogs are among a few likely candidates.

Awesome hotel, feels like the real Costa Rican experience!
The hotel and the staff were great! It was located right in the midst of the rain forest. We saw tons of animals just walking around the property. The food was delicious as well. The hotel has its own farm and much of the food produced from the farm was used in guest meals. A few suggestions, the property is about 2 km off the highway on a BUMPY road, I would suggest an SUV. Also the security in the rooms are limited (no safe, open windows) I wouldn't bring anything valuable.
