Wedding Stay
My son was married here on the beach and it was very nice. The views, pools and staff were excellent. Tennis courts needed a little work.

Great facilities, annoying charges.
Very impressive resort hotel. Excellent service, extensive facilities, service-oriented staff. However, annoying charges, e.g. room wi-fi charge, late check out charge. Mini bar items prices were excessive. However, Coffee shop, CR souvenirs in Gift Shop, and some dishes at La Vista restaurant were reasonable. A very pleasant stay. Excellent value rate.

Wonderful Place, but has a few issues
The hotel and pools are fantastic. The staff overall was helpful and friendly. The beds were cozy and great to sleep on! The city where the hotel is located is not great and missing a lot of sites. But it is close to ziplining and an hour away from white river rafting and the beautiful ocean front park Manuel Antonio (Don't get a guide, there expensive and useless) We did have some issues with the hotel, on our first day when we first arrived, we were not assigned rooms that met our needs that were requested. We had eight people in two rooms, and the front desk said that they only had one king for each room and no more doubles/queens we objected strongly. They said our reservation was only a "request" we noted that we paid for a package deal of flight and hotel for 8 people and that four people would not fit on one king bed! Finally, after much arguing they found two rooms with two doubles!( Why all the grief they caused is a mystery!) The second issue is in regard to the restaurants and food. Everything is extremely expensive! (More than we pay for meals in the U.S.) and there are really only two restaurant choices. The waiters while friendly need better training as they are not attentive to the needs of the table and rarely if ever ask if we needed anything. Many times we had to flag down a waiter or busboy just to get water refills! Besides these two issues the hotel was wonderful!

Definitely do zipling and white river rafting! Both were fantastic. Do not get a guide to take you through Manuel Antonio Park... there expensive and showed us few things.

Nice time ! It's expensive
Had a great time ,we enjoyed the pool , room , location, and staff were great , very beautiful place , but it was expensive , and they seemed to stick you on some things that were silly , like $5 bottles of water ,$5 cans of beer in the room , $10 drinks at the pool , and even $10 a day to use the wifi ! I stayed at the Marriott in San Jose before and after the trip to Los Suenos , and it was free there . They even charged $10 to come and clean out the minibar , so we could put our own stuff in the room ,you can get champagne , beers , water , snacks and stuff just a few blocks away at a supermarket on your way back from dinner and save a bunch ! We enjoyed the resort and grounds ,but everything was so expensive there , we ate dinners out at nice places in Jaco ,and went to Villas Colletas to see a great sunset and have a great meal , one night . Costs a bunch to get there , $100 to 140 each way for a shuttle ,so plan on that from San Jose . We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott before and after ,since you get in so late from DFW , and a 1and half to 2 hour drive to Los Suenos from San Jose ,we did not want to waste a night at a 5 star place and get there at midnight , also leaving early for flight home , so better to stay the night in San Jose , than leave there at 4:30 am , to be at airport by 6:30 for check in ,you need to be there 2 hours early .

Short drive from hotel
Eat at the Pelican ,located by Jaco ,right on beach , a short drive from the Los Suenos is great food , get the shellfish feast for 2 ,on the way back the supermarket is great to stop at for water , beer , champagne , and snacks , will save you a bunch ! The resort is outrageous ! The wildlife is much better to see at Manuel Antonio national park than the other one close to the hotel the Carara N.P. , walked for 3 hours at Carara ,and saw nothing but a few small birds, think maybe the locals have got the wildlife there ! At Manuel Antonio we saw sloths ,monkeys (3 types) , and lots of small stuff , plus the beach is great ! The crocodile safari a local recommended in the small town Tarcoles , on the way to the resort ; was great . They even put on a show and fed a 90 to 100 year old monster , that is 6 meters and weighs in at 1400 lbs. plus ! Make the drive to see the sunset at Villa Colletas , the food is great , and the view is amazing ! Oh yes if you do not plan on getting out too early each day , get the breakfast included plan with your room , it is a great breakfast and will save you a bunch versus waiting till you get there and buying it there .

Los Suenos Marriott
Fantastic hotel, we had visited Costa Rica for a wedding that was held at the Marriott and stayed for the remaining week for vacation. The hotel is beautiful, staff are very helpful and kind. The rooms are very cleaned and the best comfortable beds ever!!! I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic vacation or a family vacation. The Marriott offers lots of activities for children. One last thing the restaurants on the premises are fantastic.
