Wellness and adventure, in perfect harmony.

Rio Perdido is in Guanacaste, 45 minutes southeast of Liberias international airport , near the base of the Miravalles Volcano. Regional attractions include Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and Palo Verde National Park, among others.

HOTEL AND PRIVATE RESERVE FEATURES
The centerpiece of the 600-acre private reserve is a unique THERMAL RIVER that runs for over a mile along the base of a rocky gorge. Visitors access the hot river by descending stone stairwells and trails.
There are a couple of dozen untouched river pools to swim in. The architecturally awarded restaurant has sweeping terraces that afford views of the canyons, volcanoes and the Miravalles dwarf forest. There is a full-service spa, a bar/lounge, and 3 hot mineral pools with floating sun decks and wet bar. There are over 15 miles of hiking and biking trails.

Breakfast, wireless internet and guest parking are complimentary. The staff can provide 24 hours concierge services, tour/ticket assistance and wedding services.

The hotel has been developed under the most up-to-date standards in environmental sustainability. The stand-alone units, while modern and highly functional, conserve guest comfort, without compromise. The setting is one of a kind;

*Dry tropical forest.
*Boasting deep rocky canyons.
*Numerous volcanic monoliths.
*The areas most generous thermal springs offering thousands of gallons per minute of medicinal quality.
*Soothingly warm mineral water.
*Having direct and unrestricted access to the 600-acre private reserve means that you can enjoy over 10-miles of hiking trails.
*Amazing views from several panoramic lookouts.
*Cable adventures (including zip-lines, hanging bridges, and Tarzan swings).
*Central America's leading bike park, with it's multi-circuit / multi-level trail system.All this, a stone's throw away from your balcony's hammock!

Truly attentive service, attention to detail, and award-winning architecture characterize the central hotel complex. The main restaurant offers up an inspired culinary experience. Dishes are based on the conscious fusion of local + organic ingredients with our chef's creative mastery. We are certain that these words will fall short of your final verdict!
CR's most respected teachers of therapeutic arts have created the perfect spa concept. This team of masters knows true wellness can only be achieved by fusing high quality treatments with a certain lifestyle...one that includes a healthy diet (fresh and natural foods), proper rest, a tailored exercise routine and, never to be underestimated, the access to pure air and water...qualities that all guests recognize from the moment they arrive.

Our pools and decks are by no means typical, as their waters are drawn from deep artisan wells. Lab testing confirms that our reserve is blessed with amazing underground veins that carry our world's most precious fluid, in its most pristine state. So take an afternoon to rest at our floating pool decks...lay back and enjoy a cool beverage, made fresh from our organic garden's produce.

Dining

For Dining
Amazing authentic food with fresh, local ingredients. Expect dining to be more than just keeping the blood sugar balanced, as our talented chef, creates inspired recipes, while respecting the integrity of local culinary tradition.
In the kitchen, our chef leads a team that includes several locals, born and bred in tiny San Bernardo. These individuals add an invaluable rural know how to the mix.
We look for local farms with amazing produce and international handling standards. Food should be safe, delicious, and even healing
We have created a special restaurant atmosphere that dissipates the mid-days heat without the need of inefficient air conditioning or noisy fans. Complementing the amazing food, our restaurant offers panoramic views from almost any point. There is a place to lounge and a bar that offers international favorites as well as locally inspired cocktails; signature drinks that you will not find elsewhere.

Relaxation from the city

We loved this resort. It was beautiful and a great relief from the stress and the grind of the city. I loved the thermal river. I wish they focused more on local food as their Costa Rican food was much better than the Americanized food. Other than that it, was perfect.

Great resort!

Great place for couples or family. Friendly staff throughout the entire stay. Plenty of activities and nice towns nearby. We used our rented car every day. Everything was great only things I can say to consider are the wifi didn't reach in our room and the lunch and dinner menu are the same every day.
