Hilton Papagayo Costa Rica Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Went to Costa Rica for vacation and stayed at the Hilton where I knew I would get a nice resort. Very pleasantly surprised that it was better than imagined. Views were awesome, staff was very pleasant and they went out of there way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. They were really great. Had the main pool for all and an adult pool for those who want quiet It was a very fun time

There was beautiful bungalow next to another one. There was a Jurassic park trolley would pick you up. There was an adults only pool. Snoozefest but the food at the cafe was healthy and clean. For the swim up bar you had to go to the other pool. We met great people who were on the same wavelength as us. As you know at these all inclusive sometimes the drinks aren't as as strong here was great. Hiltom works with united miles. We also had a little aardvark possum friend visit at lunch. Food was fantastic!beach is on the pacific side. Enough said

Everything at the Hilton Papguayo was wonderful -- as long as you stay away from the lobby. We were nickle-and-dimed and got screwed over just about every time we walked in there. It was far from the type of service I expect from a Hilton property. The biggest gripe: The $60 private BMW I reserved through the hotel to pick us up at the airport turned out to be a communal (non BMW, of course) shuttle that we shared with another couple ($50 a party). It was our honeymoon and it was a very frustrating start to the trip. It was even more frustrating knowing the hotel wound up making an extra $40 on our wrong transportation. The guy at the front desk showed no remorse to us or the other couple and didn't even consider lowering the price. So a 10 or 12 mile ride somehow costs $100. Unreal. It didn't get much better any other time we stepped foot in the lobby. Stay away from it, and you'll be very pleased. The rooms, the views, the beach, the pools, the FREE food, everything was very nice.

The Hilton Papagayo is a very nice resort. The bungalow setup makes it unigue as compared to other all inclusives. Food was very good, pools and surroundings are well taken care of. No complaints other than the room cleanliness could have been better. The bungallows are worn, and not like a Hilton in the USA, but the furniture and accomodations are fine for being in a remote country! Use ISSYS tours as they are very reasonable.

We got married in such a splendid location and atmosphere. Things could not have been better. One suggestion, rent a car at the resort not the airport.

Its like a cruise. The only down side is our ac wasn't very good, it worked, and with al fairness one entire wall of our room was glass so the sun was beating hard.

Everything was awesome. Staff was very very friendly. Only had two small complaints, no screens on the sliding doors so couldn't leave the doors open, and they do not offer premium alcohol and only one type of beer. The did finally get crown royal for my husband but he had to buy the bottle, which was fine. Loved it, loved it, loved it,

Recently remodeled, the complex has the best of old and new. Get an ocean view room. 428 thru 440 for best view. Hotel is in a bay, it's as if you are on a lake. Beach quality is fair, water clarity could be better. Food was excellent, but more local cuisine could be featured. Drinks were great! Super service at the bar. On sunday, a few tvs showed nfl games, which was nice. Live entertainment is provided by a local performer who can voice Elton as well as Bono! Mariachis and native dancers also. One odd thing: Internet is extra and is about $35 per day if you have an iPad and phone and laptop ... Bonus notes: great selection of drinks, at least 20 to choose from. Great spa also! Restaurant reservations are needed for dinner. Best one is Boccadilo. Shuttle bus is needed to get from your room to pool and restaurants. They come by every 3 min .. Very rare to have to wait.

I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for five days and we were very tempted to stay an extra day. The staff and server were really great! They were more than accommodating and overly friendly. We didn't have to lift a finger our entire stay. The food was better than average for an all-inclusive hotel; however, by the last day we were starting to get tired of the menu. There are three different restaurants to choose from with a variety of items on each menu, all very tasty. There are also two bars, one swim up bar and one bar conveniently located next to the pool area, which also serves food. The drinks were also very pleasant, not watered down, with just enough alcohol to drink comfortably all day long. All of the frozen and mixed drinks were delicious. The night life wasn't the greatest; the bar was quiet at night. If you are up for a little action, I would recommend taking a cab to Coco Beach, where you will find several bars and restaurants as well as souvenir shopping during the day. The hotel was very couple oriented. This is an excellent place to stay if you are looking to relax and enjoy some one on one time with your family or partner. The hotel is located on the bay of Guanacaste, which connects to the Pacific Ocean, so the beach was very small. The large pool area and the wonderful view made up for it. The most disappointing part of our stay was the weather, it was cloudy the entire time. This really didn't have much of an effect on our stay, we still had a really great time. Overall, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. I certainly plan on staying at this hotel again if I make my way back to Costa Rica and I highly recommend this hotel to others.
