Great place to relax

Beautiful Location
This hotel is set up beautifully. The landscaping is great and the pool area is gorgeous. The swim up bar is a great amenity and the bartenders were so much fun and warm especially Antonio and Martin. It is you want the feel of a resort but still get the charm of the culture this is a great hotel.

Amazing Vacation
Was a great hotel. Beautiful grounds. Nice Restaurant. Dark sand beach and a giant pool. Had a blast. Lots of giant lizards just roaming around.

Excellent for last stop of your staying
This hotel is ideal for your last night staying in guanacaste before your flight departure next morning!!. Just relax by the pool drinking your mojitos . pura vida

Bad Expreience
The hotel and room were very nice their staff was frendly BUT! The last night we were there at the diner are waiter took pictures of us. We left the table went back to the room . The next morring I realized I left the camera on the table .Went to the waiter in the morring said he not See or know were it was he cleared the table and got the tip I left, but no camera.We and one other couple the only ones in the restaurant. I'm very disapppointed If you can't trust the people there I never go again

Do not trust the people any where in the country their theives. Went on trip boat ride in Tamarindo in mango presurve park. Rode up the estuary for about 45 minutes gide took us to area nothing around we were the only ones on the boat left my bag on the boat to see the monkeys. Walk up a path about 10 minutes the boat not in sight saw monekeys. Walk back to boat to resume the tour, 45 minutets back to start went to the bag to give gide a tip. MONEY GONE! Way out in the jungle people hideing in the bush It's big scam there all in on it '

Wasn't near the big attractions but not bad if you have a car. The staff was nice and it didn't feel super touristy.

Lush grounds off an isolated cove
Though a little hard to find the hotel had clean, well kept grounds. Walking around the yard we saw little crabs and iguanas. The beach was pretty at sunset but not very inviting with its dark sand and position inside a cove. The pool closed at 8pm, a little earlier than we would have liked. There was a shallow area, however, nice for the little ones. Bugspray was ineffective against the bugs near the pool after dusk. Ash trays and trash cans in the yard were sparse, which had us carrying garbage around. Ice was difficult to find and the rooms did not have refrigerators. A well stocked buffet breakfast was included in the cost which was nice as dining options nearby were limited. Water pressure in the showers was good and there was ample hot water (burned my foot with it). Beds were comfy and the rooms had remote controlled A/C units. Only one luggage rack per room but there was plenty of counter space for the rest. Nearby Playa Coco beach was good for souvenir shopping, including the usual fare plus additional clothing as as well as wood art and handmade jewelry. Further away at Playa Conchal the water was a brilliant and the sands of the beach made up of almost entirely of fragments of weathered conch. Tamarindo Beach probably had a better nightlife, but felt very touristy and not as clean as the others.

Excellent Resort
The hotel staff was great, they made you feel welcomed everyday. We were always greeted with well wishings and pleasant smiles. From grounds keepers to cooks and maids, everyone was pleasant to be around. The resort was always clean and pleasant to walk around.

In Hotel
Don't expect to be waited on hands and feet, it's not their culture to do so. When paying your bill don't be afraid to go to the cash register, if you need something don't be afraid to grab someones attention, they don't always know exactly what you need and they don't always ask. It's not just at the hotel, it's everywhere we dined. We didn't take it as bad service, it's just how they are and we respected that.

Lovely and quiet getaway on the Pacific
This hotel was excellent as far as a getaway. It was conducive for romance. The staff was always helpful and pleasant. The Ocean was just beyond the pool. The pool was big enough to do laps. The rooms are spacious. The grounds are lovely to watch and listen to with the birds and flowers.

Plan on using their dining for meals unless you have a car and are willing to drive to eat. Some places are with in 10-20 min. drive. Closest fast food of any kind is 20 mins. to Coco beach and that is subway. Closest McDonald's is 30 to 40 min. drive. Plan ahead for meals if not eating at hotel restaurant.

Feb vacation
We really liked the hotel. Right on the beach,lovely grounds,very clean and the resturant was excellent.You must rent a car to look around the countryside. There is our only complaint- Avis rental claims to be the only one in the airport (all others are by shuttle) well they lied- I paid extra for them but Avis is shuttle too. I bought insurance online at Avis site. When I picked up car was told "that insurance is for US only" you need local which was higher then price listed on web site. Avis was neither friendly or helpful. We picked up car&it had a slow leak tire,they said just put air in it, we returned next am cause tire was getting 2 low They said $15. to fix it or you go 2 gas sta for $9. So we started vacation with a bad feeling. But the hotel made up for it. Tour Co. at front desk very good/helpful.
