Located on Guanacaste's scenic Northern Pacific coast, the Allegro Papagayo - All Inclusive resort sits on green bluffs overlooking Costa Rica's Papagayo Gulf. great hotel , bad food service
This is a great hotel, I was early for check in so they banded me and directed me to the bar and food. check in went very smoothly. my room a/c didn't work well I called they came within 10 min and it was fixed. hotel is on a hill but they have shuttle that run all the time so very little climbing in needed. I can't say enough about the hotel portion. Food And food sevice BAD to very poor little volume and few choices get to the buffett early or they run out! MUST TIP for better service. drink beer, hard liquor is rotgut they pour very weak drinks

peacefull place
The Allegro papagayo is a quiet place. If you need to relax I will recomend this all inclusive resort.

EXCELLENT ALL AROUND
From the minute we walked in the hotel lobby to the time we checked out, we were treated like family. The room could not have been better. Very clean and great view. The pool, beach, entertainment and selection of restaurants was to die for. Everything was perfect!! The staff is incredible and do everything they can to make your trip a memorible one. I would and have recommended this hotel to friends.

The hotel sits on a black sand beach(from the volcano),which is still amazing however they offer a free boat ride to a white sand beach,also the resort offers a boat ride to coco beach for shopping which is $26 per person.A cab ride to coco beach is $60 roundtrip.The boat ride is the way to go,you truly get to see paradise.

If you get bored, it's your own fault
My husband and I visited Costa Rica for the first time. We really enjoyed our stay at Allegro Papagayo. They had plenty of activities for everyone. If you get bored, it's your own fault. Everything from kids crafts to dance lessons. You won't be disappointed. My only suggestion is to learn spanish. The front desk attendants did not understand english well and made it hard to check in and out. Otherwise a great place!

Great place
Costa Rica in genral is a wonderful country to visit and staying at this hotel made even better. The rooms were a good size. The staff we all pretty much friendly. The pool was a huge hit as well as the swim up bar!

Fantastic All Inclusive for the Money
Fantastic vacation. Great views, food, and staff. Highly recommend [...] next to the front desk for booking excursions - especially the "monte verde combo". Hotel isn't near that much but the excursions were a great way to explore the rest of the country.

Great place! nice people!
nice staff, and every day and night always have activities your can enjoy. It didn't mention on the hotel website, but you can really enjoy all the entertainment. If you are tired of staying in the hotel, you can pay for other day trips!

beautiful family vacation
We are happy with the hotel staff, very nice people. The food, the drinks, the rooms, were excellent. The best for the price we paid and the swimming pool is a paradise... We will go back... no doubt about it. It's only a thing, the black birds called zanates, they are a nuisance in the dinning room.
