Allegro Papagayo-All Inclusive

after reading the reviews about allegro we were surprised the value was great the food was average for costa rica always soething good to eat. rooms were clean. the resort staff were extremly friendly the resort is not a newer resort but was very nice.this resort was probably one of the best value resorts we have been to out of 10.

Overall fair! They have the ability to make it better in terms of food selection and updated rooms to include basic stuff up to the standar of the hotel (ex. an alarming clock, coffee power). The entertaiment staff was also weak.

Not a very friendly enviroment for the business traveler. They sell you internet service but don't tell you that it does not work. They have a business center with three computers that also did not have access to the internet. Those same computers are so old that they still use USB1 so even if they had internet access I would not have been able to hook up my USB2 thunb drive.

not comfortable and pour food .

Fine mid-priced all-inclusive resort for a family looking for a somewhat exotic locale. But it is too isolated for my taste. Rooms were fine and staff -- with exception of front desk staff who were indifferent -- were welcoming. Most other guests were Spanish speaking. The Costa Ricans were lovely. Be aware that there is no food service between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (But the bar is open and I decided pina coladas would count as a food group.)

The beach isn't very nice, you need to reserve a shuttle a day ahead of time to be bused to a nice one. There is a shuttle that runs around the property but is sporadic. We had to call 3 times and wait three hours for someone to fix something in our room.

Good hotel for the price. Enjoyed the beach and access to activities. Having a coati on your balcony that eats out of your hand is a neat experience.

I was supposed to get a room with a king size bed or a room with two queen beds. I got two full beds. My legs overhanged the bed by 12". There was not a wide selection of food to choose from. the same stuff everyday. No seafood at all. Over priced gift shop. $2.50 for one can of coke.

I want to say out of all the traveling ive done this was the most unpleasant trip ive ever experienced. After the 4hr flight i was dropped off in san jose witch is 4 HOURS AWAY FROM MY HOTEL. It cost me unexpected 250 dollars and another 4 hr. ride in a taxi to get to Allegro Papagayo witch was CRAZY DUE TO THE FACT the liberia airport was on 25 MINS. AWAY AND WOULD HAVE ONLY COST 65 DOLLARS. [...] Once i finally arrived to hotel i relized i was in one of the biggest attactions FOR MILES because NOTHING SURROUNDS IT BUT WOODS! Everytime u step out to shop its 65 bucks each trip. If your looking for a nice get away with alot of attractions and things to do and see THIS IS NOT THE TRIP FOR YOU!

nice staff, and every day and night always have activities your can enjoy. It didn't mention on the hotel website, but you can really enjoy all the entertainment. If you are tired of staying in the hotel, you can pay for other day trips!
