The quint essential South Seas hideaway. A quiet, secluded property located on the western beaches of Rarotonga away from the main road traffic. The lagoon directly in front is home to all sorts of marine life and offers excellent snorkel-ling. From August to November you can watch whales from your own private verandah frolicking with their new-born calves within a stones throw of the reef. The stretch of pure white-sand beach lined with mature coconut palms offers plenty of opportunities for an idyllic afternoon snooze under the palms in a tree-strung hammock. Read a book or simply watch the waves crashing over the reef. In the late afternoon, enjoy a glass of wine as you watch an amazing tropical sunset disappear over the horizon. Sun-haven is a small family-run boutique property offering just eight beachfront rooms and one garden room. These range from studio layout to one-bedroom bungalows and suites, some with A/C option available. They cater mostly for couples, and offer a quiet secluded atmosphere, total relaxation and privacy. The suites and bungalows can sleep up to four adults. The suites are the most spacious and more suitable for four persons. Property features include free off street parking, on-site licensed cafe, large freshwater swimming pool, poolside BBQ, hammocks, sun loungers, floating pool loungers, tour desk, guest library, on-site vehicle rentals, laundry service, hair dryer available, DVD movies to rent, complimentary kayaks, snorkel-ling gear and reef shoes, on-site manager.

- Beachfront Standard Studio
- The beachfront Standard Studio is our smallest room suitable for singles or couples on a budget. A cosy private fully self contained studio with full kitchen facilities including cook top & microwave oven plus fridge/freezer. Ceramic tiled floor throughout for coolness. Lie in bed and watch the waves crashing over the reef. A standard room without the bells and whistles of our other rooms. And priced accordingly.
- Beachfront 1BR Bungalow
- Our absolute beachfront one bedroom Bungalow is an individual free standing building with covered verandah plus sundeck. Separate bedroom with king-size bed or split twin option with over bed ceiling fan. Ensuite bathroom features romantic see through glass shower enclosure. Modern cane furniture with see through glass dining and coffee tables. Fully equipped kitchen includes bench top cooker & microwave plus fridge/freezer. There is a pedestal fan plus ceramic tiled floor throughout for coolness. The beachfront one bedroom bungalow is designed for maximum natural airflow. Enjoy an ice cold beer or pre dinner Chardonnay on your covered verandah while watching breathtaking sunsets go down over the horizon.
- Beachfront 1BR Suite
- The beachfront one bedroom Suite is a huge spacious room ideal for 4 adults. Separate bedroom with king-size bed or split twin option with over bed ceiling fan. Standard furniture includes two single beds in the living room. Fully self contained with fully equipped kitchen including bench-top cooker & microwave plus fridge/freezer. Ensuite bathroom features romantic see through glass shower enclosure. Modern cane furniture with see through glass dining and coffee tables. Over bed ceiling fan plus ceramic tiled floor for coolness. Second ceiling fan in lounge with A/C option available if required. Sit on the covered verandah or sundeck with a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc and watch the amazing sunsets.

- The beachfront Studio Suite is a fully self contained spacious open plan studio with fully equipped kitchen including full size electric oven plus microwave and fridge/freezer. Ceramic tiled floor throughout for coolness with over bed ceiling fan plus pedestal fan. A/C option is also available if required. Ensuite bathroom features romantic see through glass shower enclosure. Lie in bed and look out across the pool to the reef and Pacific Ocean beyond. Step off the deck and plunge into the pool.
- Beachfront Deluxe Studio
- The beachfront Deluxe Studio is a fully self contained open plan studio with fully equipped kitchen including bench-top cooker & microwave oven plus fridge/freezer. An open plan studio smaller than the Studio Suite but with the same vista across the pool to the turquoise lagoon and blue Pacific Ocean beyond the reef. Ensuite bathroom features romantic see through glass shower enclosure. Ceramic tiled floor throughout for coolness with over bed ceiling fan plus A/C option available if required. Step off the deck and plunge straight into the pool.

- The garden one bedroom Bungalow is an individual free standing building with covered verandah. Separate bedroom with king-size bed or split twin option with over bed ceiling fan. Ensuite bathroom features romantic see through glass shower enclosure. Modern cane furniture with see through glass dining and coffee tables. The garden bungalow is designed for maximum natural airflow. Our most secluded room tucked away in a lush tropical garden only a few meters from the beach. - Area description
- There are a dozen or more good restaurants within 3kms of the property. The popular Mt. Raemaru track is virtually at our back door. The trek up this bush-clad track is invigorating and well worth the effort. The view from the summit is breathtaking. Bring suitable shoes as it is quite steep and slippery in parts. The historic Maungaroa mountain village sits on the side of this mountain.
