Awesome adventure

The thing that made this such an awesome trip were the staff of the hotel. They worked until you were happy with the results. The pool was excellant and the poolside restaurant was something everyone should try. The beds could have been a bit softer but other than that the rooms were 1st rate. I will be coming back here if I ever get back to Medellin.

Gateway to Latin America

Helpful staff, good service, excellent food (try the Hato Viejo across the street for some traditional Colombian food). Remember to take the hotel taxis or call for a taxi after dining or shopping. Medellin can be rough, but only if you're not careful. Otherwise, it's a beautiful city filled with beautiful, delightful and proud people!

World 1st class Hotel.

I have been to this hotel 2 times in the last month. That speaks for itself. I had my meals delivered by room service everyday and the food was excellent. Service was always prompt and the staff was always friendly. This place was better than any resort I have been to in the United States. I used all there facilties: the pool ,spa, restaurants, the bar,and I do not have a single complaint.

Intercontinental Medellin

Hotel Intercontinental Medellin has a great pool, restaurant, gym and excellent rooms. Only bad thing about the hotel is the location. You have to take a cab if you want to go somewhere (nothing is within walkingdistance).

Great stay at Intercontinental

This is a wonderful hotel with a great professional staff. Great attention to detail and service. The view of Medellin from the hotel is wonderful also. Good restaurant, Olympic size pool and workout facilities. You can play tennis or take a golf lesson at the hotel. There are some very good restaurants nearby. Taxis are plentyful and inexpensive. Be prepared to know some Spanish before traveling here, 1 in 10 people know English in Medellin. The hotel staff is very helpful with communicating to the taxi drivers and helping you get to where you want to go. The hotel is located in Poblado, a nice area in Medellin. I felt safe while there and went shopping at the local mall, DeSoto and in El Centro. I'd definitely stay here again.

Older hotel, service not as good

My boyfriend and I stayed here for almost a week and when we first arrived it was great. However we had some experiences in which I thought we would never have in this hotel. On our second day, housekeeping knocked before 8am and then 2 times after that. Then they knocked again and this time we opened the door and said we were not ready. 30 minutes later the maid said she had to clean our room and basically asked us to leave before her shift was over. She didn't even clean it that well either. There is a club/lounge downstairs and on the weekends, you can hear the music - we were on the 5th floor. There was no iron - we had to ask for it over and over again, and one iron stained our shirts. The people out front were helpful with the luggage but rude when it came to being dropped off. Apparently you have to jump out of the car within 2 seconds or else security gets ticked off. All in all, the experience was not horrible, but the star rating listed is not what the hotel deserves. We were in Bogota before and the hotel we went to was perfect and this one, even though it had a better name and reputation, did not even compare to that Bogota hotel. Not completely satisfied, but then again, not a lot of hotels out there to choose from. If you book this hotel, don't have high expectations.
