Apart from the initial problem of arriving very late at night when the English speaking staff had gone home, we were able to survive the first night. After that, everything went well. If you don't speak Chinese, have someone who does on speed dial
so that you can use your phone for interpretation. The most important part was being able to access the internet with my laptop. When I changed room, I had a desktop in the room.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Across the street and a block down the road from the shopping place where you could buy gifts that won't break your bank. Have a Chinese speaker who could haggle. I bought a suit for $50.
