Seaview O.City Hotel Shenzhen

This hotel is quite conveniently located. The metro station is just outside the hotel. The staffs are generally helpful and friendly. But encounter blackout while bathing once. Luckily the blackout period did not last more than 15 minutes. Also, TV program also cut off once for about 2 hours. I booked a twin sharing room but it only provided a free breakfast for one pax. Not reasonable.

The hotel is nice and probably will stay here again in future visit to Shenzhen. A minor hitch is that our room was in a separate building where we have to walk through a parking lot and need to return to the main lobby for any assistance as there was nobody in the other building's lobby.

The good thing about this hotel was that it is one metro stop away to the Wonders of the world park. But 13 stops away from Lo Wu shopping center. The hotel is just outside a Metro station so was very convenient to get to. The bell hops there were wonderful, especially Alex and Blues, who spoke good English and were always happy to help. Breakfast was OK, but good enough to start the day well. Well done, Seaview! Will be back.

Friendly, relaxed, attractive, well-run hotel. Service very good. A room in the booked category was not available (cleaned) when I arrived so I was upgraded to a probably much nicer room; demonstrates this hotel will do the right thing in unexpected circumstances while others might tell you to wait. I liked the soft music and simple artwork, mostly of tropical birds, and live chirping birds in a cage in the lobby. Traditional decor attractive, lots of dark wood. Breakfast buffet very good, including lemon water and self-serve hot and cold drinks. Cleaned my room while at breakfast after leaving the tag on the door, and left things arranged as I had placed them - good service and attention to detail. All staff were very pleasant. English was as good as any major hotel. At checkout, my unused credit card deposit was immediately canceled and the slips returned - first hotel in Shenzhen that has been so prompt in this respect - others say they will cancel later and don't return the slip - again shows a good attitude and doing the right thing. Well-run and pleasant hotel quite a bit better than expected. Suggestion to hotel: provide a printable pdf page on website with a good map of hotel location showing proximity to Splendid China with addresses and landmarks in Chinese characters suitable for taxi drivers who don't know this hotel, similar to that on card in room but too late to get there first time. I had to point to Splendid China on a map before taxi would take me and then point to the hotel to change course when nearby (I knew where it was). Worst case is that I would have had to walk to hotel from Splendid China, across highway on nearby pedestrian overpass.

I was really happy with the Seaview. It was close to the office in a safe area. Maybe more information could have been provided in English about facilities (such as whether there was a pool and also the massage services - only Chinese was spoken).
