Incredible View
When we arrived, the hotel did not have our reservations. With our confirmation they gave us a free upgrade to the executive floor. The view was amazing. Our room was beautifully furnished and comfortable. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Most were English speaking. The breakfast buffet was very good. I highly recommend this hotel.

Time-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
We asked the bell captain about taking a cruise on the river in the evening to enjoy the Beijing skyline. When it was time to leave, our driver had our tickets, he walked us to the boat, and we boarded immediately without waiting in line. It was a first class experience and the city is gorgeous at night.

Room booked not to our expectation
Room booked not to our expectation for a grand view. Room was hot & stuffy making our stay not very pleasant. Did not bother to extend our further stay in Shanghai at this hotel.

False Advertising
[...] The hotel is new and gorgeous, quite luxurious, too bad the staff does not speak English well enough to handle difficulties like this well. Location is great, we walked to the Bund even though it was closed because of construction. We could have walked to the ships' terminal for our cruise, but with luggage a taxi was cheap and easier.

The following areas could be improved: * front desk personnel to speak more English. Staff have limited knowledge of the English language. * front desk personnel should be more knowledgeable about Shanghai, i.e. places of interests, good restaurants, etc. Currently, most are not able to recommend * a little more pro-active in giving a hand with luggages. However, when asked, they are quite good. * did not keep any information on guests. Went back a week later, my family and my information were deleted. * requested booking of taxi on 27 April, but stuff forgets and have to rebook * booked minivan to airport which costs 250RMB. Driver is very friendly, but van is untidy. Here are the plus points: * rooms are spacious * front desk staff are flexible with arrangements of rooms * allowed late check-out * good lunch at the Chinese restaurant with 50% discount All in all, it was a good stay. p/s: we tipped them quite handsomely

Prime location, great room for the price
Great location... not directly on The Bund, but a quick and pleasant 10-min walk away from both the Bund and Nanjing Road, and walking distance from People's Square. Easily accessible by both subway and bus. Large, clean room and bathroom with great view of Pudong. TV had CNN. Nice restaurant with superb panoramic view on the top floor. Internet was really expensive for China(1 RMB or $0.15/min), but there is an internet cafe just around the corner. Print and bring your reservation because they didn't have me on file when I arrived. Also, I stayed during Chinese New Year and the fireworks kept me up at night, but during other times of the year, it shouldn't be bad.

Short walk from hotel
Two of Shanghai's top destinations -- Nanjing Road and the Bund -- are a short walk away. Other locations can be reached by subway (the Nanjing Rd subway station is 10 minutes away).

It was great
It was really nice. It is old but everything is clean and the staff was good. They weren't the greatest at giving information as far as tourism goes but I had internet in my room anyways. The location is good. You can walk to the bund in ten minutes and there is a shopping district nearby. You can easily get to Pudong to tour the Pearl tower. The glass elevator was really nice and you can get some amazing photos of the river behind the hotel.

Short walk from hotel
Do the Bund Tourist Tunnel. It is really crazy and trippy and almost kind of scary. It reminded me of Willy Wonka's boat ride. It just doesn't make any sense but it is a quick and easy way to get across the river... and cheap. Also, you can book a tour of the Pearl tower and not have to wait in the ridiculous lines.

Bu Hao
My room was dirty, small and the staff was rude. The carpets were nasty and smelled. The staff would not explain any thing. The internet charges were extreemly high. About 15 dollars per hour. We had given this hotel a couple of high ratings but I should have never been so nice. I will never stay at this hotel again.... And the food is uneatable.
