Renovated 4-star hotel Nanjing Road pedestrian mall
This 4-star hotel from the Accor chain was renovated in 2007 to give the restaurants and 401 guest rooms a sleek contemporary look. The 180 spacious superior club rooms on higher floors in the 30-story tower offer many appealing upgrades plus inspiring skyline views of Shanghai. East Nanjing Road subway station is a block away, and the hotel is a five-minute walk to the Bund and a 20-minute stroll to Yu Garden and People's Square.

Good Hotel in a great area
Everything about the hotel was very good. [...] We booked the hotel and the deal was "including breakfast". Our [...]booking receipt showed this but unfortunately this was not included in the communication between [...]and the hotel. The hotel was therefore unable to include breakfast in the deal. In the end we just went to Subway and had breakfast there.

The location is superb, the rooms are great, the room service food was fine, and the staff was super helpful. Also, one of the best hotel bars we've seen - Bar 505, which makes their own microbrew bee that was quite tasty.

Lost Heaven - Yunanese food in the French Concession. Amazing. Also - taxis are cheap and plentiful in Shanghai. The teal coloured ones are best but they're all good EXCEPT the maroon taxis, which are a bunch of thieves.

We stayed at the Sofitel Hyland
We stayed at the Sofitel Hyland for our past 2 trips to Shanghai and found the staff to be very helpful in anything that we asked or needed. We stayed in the Club floors and thoroughly enjoyed the Happy 2 Hours on the 30th floor each evening. We had breakfast on the 2nd floor rather than the 30th, just to enjoy the great selection of western and Asian food available there. We will stay there again when we next visit Shanghai and would recommend this Hotel to any persons who like to stay in a 5 star Hotel.

Perfect location
The hotel is a great value. It is beautifully appointed, clean, friendly staff and great location. Highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Shanghai.
