5-star hotel in southwest Shanghai with stunning style and service
This 5-star Shanghai hotel makes a dazzling first impression and then lives up to it. The cavernous lobby is a neoclassical East meets West masterpiece, replete with gleaming marble, soaring Imperial-style artwork, and a 33-foot long antique Ming-style wooden door. Guests in the 244 oversized rooms receive British-style butler service. Deserves its rating and more
Very comfortable and friendly hotel with very spacious rooms; we stayed in a business suite. The hotel staff were very obliging and most spoke English. The concierge was very knowlegable on just about everything to see and and do in Shanghai which made our stay enjoyable. The hotel is like a museum with lots of valuable artifacts on display. We would certainly make this hotel our first choice when we next stay in Shanghai.

Short drive from hotel
Stick to the shopping marts for the bargains; the department stores can be quite expensive but the price can always be negotiated. Head for Nanjing Road off the Bund for a shopping experience.

Unbeatable package for the price
Both of our kids were sick. My daughter threw out at lobby and we had extended service. We ended up resting in the hotel suite for five days. Thanks God for being able to staying in a spacious and clean suite hotel. We liked the breakfast buffet. There were lots of choices. Kids were free to eat.

Sky Fortune Hotel
A nice hotel in Shanghai close to Hongquio airport. We were upgraded to a suite at check=in - a nice surprise, but they wanted it back after a few days!!!! Nice fitness center, very good staff. not situated that close to the Metro so every trip required a 20 yuen taxi - $3.00, not much but annoying.

Good Hotel for Business and Tourism
I have stayed at the hotel before, perhaps 10 nights in last year. The hotel is great. Internet is expensive[...]. This was a disappointment. $28.00 per night for internet in a room that cost under $100. [...] Also check carefully details like this. I missed this.

Try the Shanghai Metro system to save money and time during peak drive times (most of the daytime hours). The signs are also in English and a 2 RMB ticket will get you most places. A few require an exit and re-entry that would be 4 RMB. An RMB is worth ~$0.14 so it is cheap and an adventure.

Bait and Switch
Booked for the more expensive Business Suite; however, they checked me into the cheaper Deluxe Suite. When I complained initially, they told me the suite was what I booked for. When I was checking out, having complained to the manager, he admitted that his staff have made a switcheroo. He apologized for this. This seem to be common in China. Traveler's beware! I've stayed in over 20 hotels in China for the past 5 years, this is the first hotel that caters to Westerners actually is pulling this kind of trick... Manager then recanted his statement and blamed it on Orbtiz. As the consumer, I've paid my higher dues and gotten a lesser room with nobody to go to. Either dump Orbitz (if it's really Ortbiz's problem), or stay away from this hotel.
