Almost perfect
Near the subway and walking distance to good shopping, attractions and restaurants. Internet works fine, has English speaking staff and everything you need to cook. I would definitely stay here again. The only bad thing was they stopped us leaving as the maid could not locate the iron. We left her a good tip and really think she should have at least opened the closet before she said it was missing. Very tacky to be falsely accused of stealing an iron. Moral, the Chinese may be correct not to tip.

Comfortable Hotel
Good, no problems, staff were very friendly, obviously lack of English was a little problem but all in all they were really good, having said this my lack of the Chineses language was nil so for them to communicate in English was really fantastci, I would recommend this to my friends, the location was central to get everywhere with a tube station about a minutes walk and also a minute away there was a local 24hr tesco (typically British), all the amenities was within walking distance.

Stay 1 at New Harbour
It;s not a 4 Star Hotel, it's ok, clean. Breakfast could be better (coffee was ok), newer TV and more English Channels would be better. Only 3 English channels. Bar in hotel is closed no place to get a beer if you want one. You have a kitchen but no utensils, no spoons, knives or forks ??? Location is excellent, always stay in that immediate area. 2 small markets within 100 yards and super market with a Starbucks in it less than 2oo yards.

Really like it
The hotel is very good in every aspect (room, staff & location). The only complaint I have is not enough supply in the kitchen (only a couple of plates/bowls/spoons). I borrowed a pot from a friend and was able to cook & steam food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I didn't eat there and therefore don't know the quality of the food there.

The 3- Million Mile Traveler
Great Location, Clean & large Rooms
It's a quick 5-minute walk to the subway, that connects you to the Hong Qiao airport in 40 minutes and RMB 5 yens (US$0.80), and to the Pu Dong airport in about 50 minutes and RMB 50 yens(connecting via Meg-Lev super bullet train). An easy 20-minute walk away from Xin Tian Di, one of the most popular places in Shanghai for dining, drinking and partying at the pubs. You are within RMB 20 yens in taxi fare to all major attractions in the city of Shanghai. Taxi cabs are waiting around there on the streets near the hotel. There are many nice local restaurants and places for breakfast and dinners. Two bed room plus a huge living room is standard. It also comes with a laundry machine and small kitchen that you really don't need, as there are plenty of quality and economical places to eat and have fun. For the price you pay, this is definitely a great bargain, especially if you are traveling with children.

Will make you move rooms if you extend!
The hotel was actually better than I expected. Rooms were clean and the beds weren't the typical hard beds you find in a lot of service apartments in China. They provide all the toiletries via dispensers you find in Japanese hotels. Water pressure in the shower can be uneven, but certainly not a drip.

Very Good Value
Location is very convenient with most attractions a short taxi ride ($2-3) or subway ride ($.50-1.00) away. Subway staion is 10 minute walk. Neighborhood has a couple grocery stores, food vendors and local restaurants. As to sanitaion concerns, no one in our group of 5 experienced any "intestinal incidents" from street food. The local park is interesting in the morning as many people come for different kinds of individual and group exercise. The hotel is very nice, with a moderately sized lobby, good staff with enough English speakers, nice pool and hot tub. Did not use the restaurant but it looked nice. Room was a spacious 3 bedroom with living room, dining table and small but efficient kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave. There were dishes for 4 and chopsticks but we had to request and pay about $3 extra for silverware and a frying pan. Two bedrooms had fairly comfortable queen beds while the third small bedroom had a twin that was very hard. I slept on with a comforter under me for some softness. The living room couch is large enough for an adult to sleep on. Each bathroom had a tub with shower. We were in town for 2.5 days. We enjoyed the excellent displays and activities at the Science and Technology Museum in Pudong which also has several good Imax shows. The Oriental Pearl Tower at night gave us great views of the lights of this city of 17 million. The Shanghai Aquarium next door was very good, as was the Shanghai City Museum in the base of the tower, with great reproductions of old Shanghai buildings, stores, dress and Chinese and Western autos from the early to mid 1900s. Walking the Bund at night and seeing the Shanghai families and couples is fun. We went to the shopping area around Yu Yuan Garden and met friends for dinner. They had eaten lunch at the tea house in the little lake in the center of the shopping area and said it was good but very pricey. We went to the Ningbo Dumpling Restaurant across the plaza and went to the second level for dinner. They have several small cooking areas with different kinds of food prepared and on the counter for you to pick up with prices clearly marked. Very good food, wide selection and our family of 5 ate for about $30. Had dessert at the Dairy Queen next door. We rode the maglev train from the airport to Pudong (435 kph or 261 mph), very impressive smooth ride. Arrival and departure at Shangahi Pudong airport was easy and quick, even going thru immigration on our departure at about 0730.
