Taste of old Shanghai in budget historic hotel near the Bund
This 3-star heritage property appeals to budget travelers seeking a taste of old Shanghai. The 14-story baroque-style building dates to 1930 and features a stunning spiral staircase and other period flourishes throughout the marble lobby. The Metropole stands just two blocks from the Bund and a 15- to 20-minute walk from Yu Garden and People's Square. Rooms on higher floors have excellent views of the Bund and city skyline.

Metropole Hotel
The location of this hotel is wonderful and the price is reasonable. The lobby and public rooms are very nice. The guest rooms could stand some improvement. The wall paper was ripped off the wall and the bathroom had some mold. We did not spend alot of time in the room so we were able to overlook its shortcomings. The staff was always helpful. The subway was a 10 minute walk away. We walked to the Bund, Yuan Garden shopping and took the train to the Pudong area.

The hotel is a little tired and
The hotel is a little tired and run down but still good value given its location. It 's probably a good idea to have a look at the room your getting before checking in - there's are big difference in room sizes within the same room category. Traffic noise is pretty loud, especially on the lower floors, if this is going to be a problem for you then it might be worth asking for room that doesn't look over the street, although it means you'll have less light and less to look at out the window.

Chambres spacieuse mais très bruyantes
Chambres spacieuse mais très bruyantes côté rue.La climatisation ne fonctionnait pas et de plus le refrigérateur vide fonctionnait surtout en source de chaleur, il faisait donc relativement chaud dans les chambres..heureusement pour nous la température extérieure n'était pas excessive....L'emplacement de l'hotel par rapport à Nanjing road, au bund et aux jardins et musées reste un plus indéniable.

Hotel très bien situé. 10 mn station
Hotel très bien situé. 10 mn station métro. 10 mn du Bund. Accueil efficace. Possibilité d'avoir des tours organisés. J'ai trouvé à 5 mn une boulangerie pour se faire dans la standard room un petit dej français.
