Historic hotel in French Concession offers best of old and new Shanghai
This five-star heritage hotel has hosted more than 400 heads of state since opening its doors in 1929. Today the 434-room hotel appeals to travelers who want a taste of both old and new Shanghai. The Jin Jiang is surrounded by the picturesque tree-lined lanes of the French Concession and located a half block from the bustling shops and restaurants along Huaihai Road. Old Shanghai Moon restaurant, open 24 hours, is a lovely 1930s-style dining room serving dishes like sweet and sour spare ribs.

OK but they will nickel-and-dime you
The room was nice and it was centrally located in the French Concession. They will nickel-and-dime you for everything. RMB 10 for printing a page, etc. Do not take their offer of RMB 173 for breakfast, 5 mins down the road there is a very nice dim sum restaurant

Do not accept the taxi touts at the airport. Walk to the taxi ranks and the drivers are hinesy

Beautiful Hotel - Great Service
This is a great 5 star hotel. Very clean in a great area (the Rodeo Drive of Shanghai). If you like to shop try the side streets in this area where you will find hundreds of boutiques. Walk a half block to get to subway system to go anywhere you want.
