Historical hotel in Shanghai’s downtown

Great classic hotel
I first visited Shanghai 25 years ago and the Broadway Mansions Hotel has been around since the 1930's - still my favorite place to stay in Shanghai. The location is excellent - right at the top of the Bund with a great view of the curve of the river. The breakfast was great. We upgraded to get the internet and a higher floor, but that probably wasn't required. The beds were good, room was clean, shower was great. We were glad to have a room on the non-smoking floor.

If you have more than one internet enabled device (we had 8), you might want to bring a network access point to plug into the RJ45 to facilitate sharing - the WIFI times out very slowly, so it was difficult to use multiple devices.

This was my third stay and will not be my last - great location - great service and great breakfast. Please to note that the level of English spoken by the young staff was much improved hence communication was very easy.

Fantastic location, right on the river/Bund. Service was excellent, staff extremely helpful, Rooms were well equiped and large. Close to transport. Would certainly return. 8 Australian tourists

Have stayed here on 2 occasions
Have stayed here on 2 occasions and have no complaints with room and staff. The "European " restaurant is pricey ( only used it as the Chinese restaurant was closed )

Broadway Mansions is in a really
Broadway Mansions is in a really good location at the end of the Bund just across Suzhou Creek. The building looks a little like the 'building' in Ghost Busters but once inside was very nice, the rooms were nice, we had a deluxe room (which includes breakfast) overlooking the Bund (worth that bit extra just for the views). Breakfast was good but not spectacular, had evertthing you would want (make sure you sit in the non smoking area). Walking from the hotel to Nanjing Road shops was about 15 minutes and short taxi rides to Yu Yuan Gardens, the French Concession and other sites cost only £1-2. Thoroughly recommend this hotel for a short break in Shanghai.

Nice hotel, breakfast cost 20
Nice hotel, breakfast cost 20 USD , (Why its not include in the room charge) near the river but all the area under construction(till 4.2010) so its imposible to walk along the bund!!! it's closed !!! a little far from the nanging rd. but Taxi is very cheep. no wifi at hotel. using Internet cost 50 Yuan per day.
