I have stayed in Days Inn all over the U.S. and thought it would be the same good experience in Lansing, MI. I was very wrong. The convenience to the freeway (I96) was the only good thing I can say about this hotel. Checking in was
relatively simple. When I called the front desk for some help, the desk clerk didn't show a whole lot of enthusiasm about helping us find a clock radio, an iron and ironing board or helping us (out of towners ) find a decent place to eat. We ended up eating at the hotel (see below) The room was filthy, from the mold in the shower to the hair in the sink. The bed linens were stained and dirty. The foot of the mattress raised up approximately 6 inches whenever my husband or I lay down on the bed (neither of us are obese, or even heavyset). Dinner at the hotel restaurant was horrible. The hamburger I ordered was hard, cold, and overcooked, with shredded cheese and cold fries. After waiting 45 minutes from the time we ordered, with no one else (except a nice young man who seated us and took our order) in the Dining Room, it seems that maybe our dinner was leftover from lunch?? We had ordered a drink from the bar, and the bartender (a young woman who spoke limited English) had to ask my husband several times how to make a martini......I passed on a cocktail. I have no problem with getting exactly what I pay for, however this is a bit extreme.
