Great Trip
Hotel staff extremely friendly. Staff helped us book full day and 1/2 day excursions. Hotel is located outside the city center and not within walking distance to attractions; however, taxi is very reasonably priced. Hotel is also located about 50 minutes from the airport. Location requires you to book a car service in advance or take a taxi. They do not offer a shuttle. Rooms facing the back and on the end near the bridge are a bit noisy...a lot of horns honking in the AM. Lounge entertainment is very good. Buffett is better than most and contains an extensive variety of items. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome.

If you take the 1/2 day city tour arranged by the hotel, let your guide know your interests so they can include more than just the 3 key attractions. Our guide and driver were great.

Class and elegance, set in a remote
Class and elegance, set in a remote riverside location, distant from the hustle and bustle of the city center. The Shangri-la service was evident from the moment our party arrived at the entrance, to the reception, up to our rooms, and all through the cafe, bar and the Chinese restaurant. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. Particularly impressive was Ms Bonnie Yang, who served practically as our personal waitress at dinner at the Shang Palace. With a ready smile the whole time, she patiently served us, four exacting and hungry men. Her attentiveness and her recommendations of some delightful dishes all meshed together to provide us a lovely dining experience. She was the main reason we went back for seconds the next evening !

Best hotel in Guilin
Shangri la is the best Hotel in guilin. It is super big, neat and clean and very new. Food was excellent, staff and all amenities were great.

Shangri-La, Guilin, China
Our stay at the Shangri-La Hotel, Guilin was superb! Every employee was courteous, polite, and professional. The service was amazing. The food at the Li Cafe was excellent. A great blend of international and Guilin cuisine. The hostess/waitress were helpful in bringing food to our table. Even the chef came out to greet us to make sure everything was okay. Our Deluxe River View Room had wonderful decor and had a nice view of landscaped gardens and Li River. We also enjoyed relaxing in their lobby lounge, which had beautiful Chinese murals and decor. One of the best hotels that we have been to around-the-world.

Our riverboat trip along Lijiang River was beautiful and picturesque. The trip entertained fantastic beautiful hills and waters. The city of Guilin and Yangshou along the waters should not be ignored. They are also beautiful. We met many foreigners in Yangshou and Longji.

チェックインの際、リバービューのアップグレードの打診があり、多少の追加でアップグレードしました。 桂林なので桂林らしいビューの部屋の方がいいですね。 桂林としては高い価格でしたが、快適だったので満足です
