Riverside Guangzhou hotel with flora-frocked atrium and two pools
Situated on historic Shamian Island with views of the Pearl River and pool, the 34-story White Swan Hotel Guangzhou is a tranquil oasis with a lush, foliage-frocked, four-story atrium garden punctuated by rocks and cascading waterfalls. Highlights include 10 restaurants -- both Chinese and Western-style -- plus fitness and health centers, a spa tub, a shopping arcade and a video arcade. Two outdoor pools, eight outdoor and two indoor tennis courts, a squash court and conference and business centers lend further appeal. Also, massages can be arranged.

- Located on the historical Shamian Island, overlooking the famed Pearl River and facing the White Swan Pool, the White Swan Hotel remains an oasis of tranquility from the hustle and bustle of this busy city. The main building has the height of 34 storeys. The exquisitely beautiful Atrium lobby is an indoor microcosm of the famed landscapes of Southern China. Here waters abound, with a veil-like cascade and a spectacular rockery. Atop the rockery sits an elegant Chinese pavilion, octagon-shaped, with its richly ornate gold top, and a profusion of luxuriant vegetation and flowers.

This is a great place to stay,
This is a great place to stay, in a quieter, historical and quaintly western, part of town .. Shamian Island, but it is just a short walk over a main road, from the most interesting local markets, dried goods, pet market, and pedestrian streets you can see in China. A1 convenience, comfort. Slightly musty smelling rooms, excellence shuttle bus service to train station.

Great Hotel
The hotel was supposed to be the best in the city. I think it lived up to the name. I spent a long time just taking pictures inside the hotel. The only problem is that the drinks from the hotel bars were too expensive. But that's expected.

Bad Start, Bad Location
[...]i found out i am like 15 minutos away from the firt metro station. In general the hotel is obselete, old, smells old, and overpriced! Never coming back again here.

A delightfully clean and comfortable
A delightfully clean and comfortable hotel in which all staff (check-in, baggage, dining area & cleaning) took great care of guests. Our only difficulty was in locating a taxi at the bus depot which was prepared to travel to the hotel during peak hour traffic. Best to include breakfast in room booking charge. The buffet was most enjoyable but quite expensive as an "add-on" cost. We would certainly recommend this hotel to other travellers. It is located in a lovely area which is being beautifully restored.

A superb location. Not too far
A superb location. Not too far from a metro. Breakfast ridiculously expensive (didn't have it).
