An oasis of calm

This is a Shangri-La hotel, and as such is pretty good, and being in Chengdu it is priced at a reasonable rate, and so why rough it? The rooms are comfortable, clean and the bed soooo comfortable. All of the services are smooth and efficient and it is a little oasis of calm for the weary traveller.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a "Lan Kwai Fong" area right next door to the hotel, complete with expensive cocktails and friendly local girls, or more interestingly some local bars just over the river from the hotel.

clean luxury hotel in a polluted city

The hotel is near the city center and a short cab ride to the city parks and Jinli street. The Chengdu Panda Reserve takes about 40 minutes in a cab, and is well worth the visit. The air pollution in Chengdu is terrible and the sky was a smoggy haze during our entire trip.

Nightlife tip: In Hotel

The hotel bar (Mooneys) in the bottom floor is a fun expat bar that has a decent cover band, pub food, and a reasonable selection of western beer.

Beautiful Hotel

Beautiful hotel. Staff was very helpful. Loved the pool. Good location. Did not like their buffet breakfast. Very large, but food quality was mediocore. Also was not imprssed with their service or drinks in their lounge area. Spent one night at their executive lounge. Wonderful service and food. Overall, I would recommend this hotel!!

Great hotel, great facilities,

Great hotel, great facilities, great service. But I spent 4 hours trying to catch a taxi from the city back out to the hotel and ended up walking all the way back to the hotel.....and it's a long way on foot.
