Totally unique in Beijing, The Emperor Forbidden City is an ultra-modern boutique hotel in the city s historic centre with amazing views of the Imperial Palace. Cutting-edge rooms and suites accompany a spectacular roof terrace and bar, a glass-enclosed spa and fitness centre, raditional imperial cuisine with a contemporary twist and outstanding butler service. The chic contemporary design creates an immediate impact: clean, modern lines highlighted with traditional symbolic touches. Images of Chinese emperors are sketched on the room doors and the roofline of the Forbidden City is traced along the suede bedroom walls. The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Wangfujing shopping district are so close that visits are a must. Back at the hotel, revive yourself at the rooftop bar with a cocktail and watch the fascinating Raising of the Lanterns ceremony at sunset. The Emperor Beijing Forbidden City is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.

Loved The Emperor Hotel!

The hotel is in a central location. I can't say enough about the superb staff and their high level of customer service. The decore of the hotel is different and very cool. They have all the amenities you could ask for, and then some! The roof top restaurant and bar has great character and very good food. My only recommendation would be to insure you have the hotel name and address properly translated into Chinese Characters and the phone number handy for the taxi driver. The Emperor is a boutique hotel and not widely known.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

When in China always insure you provide your taxi driver with the name and address of your destination in Chinese Charaters. Often that is not enough, so keep the location's phone number handy or show them a Chinese map. It will minimize your frustration greatly. FYI....Hotels are very good about doing the translations. Have fun!
