Exquisite - jasmine perfumes the lobby
Pat Aug 7, 2009
From the moment we entered the lobby with its' smell of jasmine perfume, we were treated to outstanding service, elegent ... rooms and facilities, and the feeling of old world comfort. Pool was a treat on hot days, and the staff was superb. Located near many major sites (Tienanmen Square, Forbidden City, Opera House, etc.). Great way to start in China - rather than the more impersonal, generic new hotels.
Traveler type: Couples
We rented a car, driver and English speaking guide for the first couple days through Beijing Xinhua Tours - very affordable and so worth it in terms of saving time and aggravation. Personalized service - went where we wanted without having to deal with cabs, language barrier, etc. If we go to Beijing again, we'd do that rather than sign up for a formal tour.
