Great hotel!
Location was perfect -- close to Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing (shopping street). John, the 'hotel ambassador" could not have been more helpful, as was Jackie. Hotel definitely earns its 5 star rating.

Too much money for middle class service. The quality of hotel is low in comperance with other Raffles hotels.

Like a Familiar Friendly Place
The staff was always welcoming and helpful. In the sweltering summer heat and after a long day at work this was always comforting.

Exquisite - jasmine perfumes the lobby
From the moment we entered the lobby with its' smell of jasmine perfume, we were treated to outstanding service, elegent rooms and facilities, and the feeling of old world comfort. Pool was a treat on hot days, and the staff was superb. Located near many major sites (Tienanmen Square, Forbidden City, Opera House, etc.). Great way to start in China - rather than the more impersonal, generic new hotels.

We rented a car, driver and English speaking guide for the first couple days through Beijing Xinhua Tours - very affordable and so worth it in terms of saving time and aggravation. Personalized service - went where we wanted without having to deal with cabs, language barrier, etc. If we go to Beijing again, we'd do that rather than sign up for a formal tour.

位置理想，服務一流。在早上十一時前到達也可立即安排房間，在知道我們的航班在晚上時又自動推遲退房時間至下午四時，完全喜出望外！職員還帶我們到房間及介紹設施。雖然房價較貴但真的物有所值。不愧為北京老牌高級酒店！
