Hushed tranquility at a four-star central Beijing hotel
Repeat guests consider this four-star property in central Beijing a good value. The 216-room hotel, opened in 2005, is small enough for the staff to provide personalized service. The 15-story tower is set back from the road, allowing a surprisingly tranquil stay in Beijing. The smartly decorated rooms create a refined and relaxing atmosphere. Guests can walk to the Forbidden City and Wangfujing Street within 15 minutes. The Dengshikou subway station on line 5 is less than a block away.
Highlights
- Personalized service
- Stylish, comfortable rooms
- Location set back from the road makes for a more tranquil stay
- Central location within 15-minute walk of Wangfujing Street and the Forbidden City
Rooms
The smartly decorated rooms make a great first impression. Muted earth tones, streamlined contemporary furniture, and eye-catching fabrics combine to create a refined and tranquil atmosphere. The 216 moderately sized rooms -- 16 of them suites -- start at 301 square feet. All rooms have city or park views and come with a safe, desk, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and free high-speed Internet.
Features
Bloo Dining serves a fusion of western and Asian dishes. The sleek interior gleams with glass: crystal chandeliers, ornate red bowls, and racks of green champagne bottles. At Oodle, guests eat in or take out oodles of Asian noodles. For a light snack or evening drink, the richly upholstered chairs in the First Lounge bar beckon. The lounge hosts live performances of Chinese classical music and pop music on Thursday and Friday nights.
A beauty parlor and a massage center offer treatments such as facials and aromatherapy massages. Guests who want to work up a sweat appreciate the fitness center's Technogym equipment.

Great Week in Beijing
Nice hotel staff, not a noisy area, close to everything you want in downtown Beijing, and a Starbucks and Irish pub just across the street.

Better Than Expected; Would Go There Again
Everything on our 3 day visit worked out surprisingly well, with the exception that I left feeling that the upgrade I was sold on arrival (better room/facilties) did not prove to be particularly good value for money.

One of the best deals in Beijing
Conveniently located in the center of Beijing. This hotel was amazing bang for the buck. At around 90$ a night you got a clean luxury room with 1) great shower water pressure 2) a very comfortable Chinese style bed (hard, but my back feels great!) 3) free Internet Tip: If you speak no Chinese always carry a hotel card/map of hotel with you. Most cab drivers don't know where this is as it is in the shadow of 2 very large hotels.

Great hotel
Located very close to the subway, which is cheap and convenient to getting around (taxis are cheap too but traffic in Beijing is quite bad). The concierge was extremely helpful, all aspects of service were great. Breakfast was quite good, many choices that even changed day to day.

One of the attendants got us a taxi and bargained for us to visit the great wall at much less than you would pay through an agency.

Home away from home
We were pleasently suprised with Park Plaza Wangfu Jing- it is very centrally located and the rooms and bathrooms were large and extremely comfortable. But what sold us to this hotel were the staff--- [...]at the front desk made our welcome so pleasent and warm-- offerinng us all the help we needed. The staff at the concierge desk were extremely effecient. They guided us well to all the places we wanted to visit-- subway is just around the corner. All spoke good english and all in all- this is th eplace to be when visiting Beijinng-- the surrounding areas are interesting-- Food Street is a couple of blocks away.Try the pancakes from the street vendors.

Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing
We were there after the Asia cruise, the room was clean and spacious, the bed was very confortable. Location of the hotel is very convenient and close to a lot of attractions. Subway is just around the corner of the building. Except for the Great Wall, we used the subway to visit all other attractions.

Average
Average stay. Room was small. It does not live up to the expectations of a "4 star" hotel. Girl at the counter was a bit rude when I declined the offer to pay extra to upgrade the room. Concierge personnel were helpful. Good location.
