Go fish at a basic budget hotel near Olympic Village

This 154-room, budget chain hotel opened near the Olympic Village in 2008 to handle the crush of crowds headed to the summer games. These days, however, this basic hotel appeals mostly to budget business travelers working at the nearby International Conference Center. Guests can reach most of Beijing's top attractions within a 30-minute ride on subway line 5. The hotel offers free bicycle rentals for two hours, enough time to explore the Olympic Village. Each room comes with a pet goldfish for company.

Highlights
  • Near the Olympic Village and International Conference Center
  • Subway line 5 takes guests to main Beijing attractions

Rooms

Terrible,dont stay there!

I was booked into this hotel for 11 days by a colleague. The hotel is simple and basic but close to the tube. On my ast day I discovered that someone had entered my room, accessed my bag which was locked with a 4 number combination lock, stole $200, put the lock back to the same combination and left. Rooms are accessed via electronic card, and every corner of the hotel is covered by CCTV, so easy to assess who was on my room, nevertheless the hotel ignored the claim and did nothing about it. My colleague, who is chinese, has been twice to the hotel but she is being ignored. So unless you want to be robbed, dont stay there. Plus: - Absolutely no one speaks anything but chinese - Rooms are cold, you can not control the heating, which is kept to a minimum - No breakfast or food available - Soap and gel provided is terrible (and I am not picky) - Internet, what internet? If you are lucky you may connect once every ten times at silly slow speeds. TERRIBLE

Great value for price. Wow.

Post midnight check-in very smooth. Courteous staff. Beautiful rooms. Should be paying at >$100, but much, much less. Only location was off here, but Orange has 5 or 6 location in Beijing. Free wi-fi and breakfast.

Comfortable budget hotel

This is a very clean budget hotel with a very helpful staff. Admittedly English language is limited but, for example, one clerk at the desk worked patiently with me on purchasing airline tickets as I went through several possibilities and changes. The two oranges every night were a nice touch. Do not expect a mini bar or refrigerator but it is right on for the budget travellor who is open to accepting that people in China speak Chinese but in the Orange hotel they will still try to meet your needs. I recommend this hotel.
