Great location But...

Great location between Forbidden City and Wangfujing, but this is a "locally" run hotel with all that that means in China. The staff were OK but they do lack a degree of customer service and attention that you would normally expect. The rooms are pretty spartan, well in need of renovation and come complete with the almost obligatory rock hard bed. I travel to Beijing frequently and i always like to try out new places, but i am unlikely to revisit this one.

Great rooms, great location

I was there for only 3 nights, very central location - staff is very friendly and most of them speak english.. rooms are clean, you have a pc in each room for internet access (or use yours with a cable LAN). I didn't have a chance to try the pool or the restaurant there..

The hotel is dirty (there was even a crock roach trap in our room), the personnel barely speaks english and is unwilling to help out with their limited english, the area is convenient to the main attractions.

Great Hotel! Perfect Location

The location of the hotel is very convenient. It is really close to the forbidden city and Wangfujing street. It was easy to have things to see just by walking around the area. The room has complimentary water and soft drinks which is very convenient in the summer. The air condition was very quiet so we were able to get a nice sleep. The hotel staff did not speak english very well. The only problem we had was that it was very difficult to get to the hotel, no taxi driver new the address, even at the airport information center they told us that the hotel was not picking up the phone and they did not know where the address of the hotel is. So we had to search for it on Google Maps and show the way to the driver, it was very unconvinient and we wasted a couple of hours at the airport because of this, so be prepared with a printed map with the location of the hotel if you stay here.

Perfect place to stay

I stayed at the Jade Garden last year. This time, I invited 3 colleagues/friends to stay. My two stays were great--the same for my friends. The Jade Garden is conveniently located near historic sites, shopping, and good restaurants. It's on a quiet tree-lined street. Hotel staff are very helpful, writing names and addresses in Chinese for the taxi drivers, plus arranging taxis and airport transportation. This time, I used the business center for its Internet and printing. No problems! The breakfast buffet is a nice mix of western and Chinese offerings. Two friends opted for massages, which they raved about. Look no further; the Jade Garden Hotel is where you should stay!

The food sold in the night market is only eaten by tourists, not locals. It is there only for the amusement of the locals who are selling it.

Great place to stay in Beijing and great

The hotel was in walking distance of Tiananmen Square, the Foridden City, the night market, and Wangfujing Street. For sites that were further away, the concierge arranged promptly for a cab. The room was large, comfortable, had high ceilings, and was very nicely decorated. The bathroom was very nicely outfitted, the bed was comfortable, and the TV/computer combination was excellent. The breakfast and dinner buffets had very nice selections and were reaasonable in price. When I go back, I plan to stay there again!

Great hotel, great location

The Jade Garden is a very comfortable, well-run hotel in a good location - a 15+ minute walk from Tiananmen, the Forbidden City and the subway, a few minutes from Wangfujing, with a nice buffet and good restaurants nearby. The staff was eager to be helpful at all times. We would definitely stay there again in the future and recommend it to others.
