Very nice hotel with perfect location near Wangfujing Street. Only 15 meters to APM Shopping Mall with many restaurants. The ... room was incredibly big, we were upgraded to a suite. It was very very nice and modern. You must dine one night at the hotel restaurant CHYNNA, excellent food and ambience for reasonable price. This is the best choice in Beijing.

We had to wait 2 hours for the available room. But the manager courteously apologized and upgraded our room to something ... bigger. I would say it was worth the wait.

The buffet is not really worth the money you pay. This is my only complaint.

Great room, huge and very comfortable bed, shower and just gorgeous. Very polite and friendly staff. Everything was great ... except that internet was not free and most hotels in China do provide free internet, so I was a little disappointed and annoyed. The location is great, I was on a layover for just three nights after a month in China so it was very convenient for last minute shopping. For sightseeing, book your own tour online, there's many options, they pick you up from the hotel and drop you off at the end of the trip. It is very convenient and cheap. In comparison the ones the concierge service offer are too limited or expensive. Overall, it was worth every penny and I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Beijing to stay there.

walk south on Wangfujing to the subway stop. From there you can get virtually anywhere in the city.

a work in progress

This is a high quality hotel with excellent and up-to-date amenities (large lcd tvs, broadband and wireless connectivity, ... motorized curtains and shades, double sinks, etc.). The staff are young and very helpful. Their English is good enough for most situations. There are two major problems. First, the back of the hotel is not finished--the so-called Macau Center is basically an unfinished shell and several floors of the hotel are blocked off at one end because the rooms behind are unfinished. Guests who are paying premium prices might wonder why Hilton did not complete the hotel complex first. The biggest problem is across the street: a building site the size of two football pitches. This is a 24 hour operation that during our stay featured large earth moving vehicles and massive dump trucks going backwards and forwards throughout the night. We had booked a large room but, like many guests, gave up our room to find somewhere in the hotel that would allow us to sleep through the night. They gave us a room on a higher floor that was smaller but it was still too loud (they were using large pneumatic drills to break rocks). Eventually, we found a room on the opposite side of the hotel but it was much smaller than what we had paid for and we didn't receive any discount for the inconvenience (we had paid for a suite because we were traveling with our kids). I would recommend that unless you are hard of hearing you should probably avoid this hotel until the building across the road is finished--probably by the end of 2010. It is actually a super hotel with great rooms in a wonderful location just off the main shopping district and close to Tiananmen but it's hard to enjoy the hotel when you lose so much sleep.
