The total experience was excellent. Extremely polite staff, comfortable room with large shower, seperate bath and private toilet. Temperature control worked perfectly in the room and the maids were quick to clean dispite our odd hours. The area was good for restaurants, cabs and or subway. The pool and fitness area were spotlessly clean and generously sized - the only, albeit slight drawback was the gym had very minimal equipment.

GMB is a very comfortable hotel
GMB is a very comfortable hotel to stay; priced much below European level it gives an overall impression of a best place to stay. It's very quiet; at the same time it's located in the downtown - equally close to night life and old cultural attractions.

Well situated in the CBD-area,
Well situated in the CBD-area, close to subway, clean, large, comfortable rooms. Great gym-, pool-, and spa-area. Friendly service, but checkout was too slow. Bar Would gladly stay there again IF THEY COULD PROVIDE A BETTER INTERNET-connection. It was extremely slow and very frustrating. Prices in bar and lobby ridicolously high (but that´s in no way exceptional for this hotel).

The hotel staff needs to be more
The hotel staff needs to be more attentive to guest needs, out of my 4 nights stay, there is no smile from any of the service staff except for one which i encounter only at my departure, the reception staff are all so unfriendly and i feel like i am intruding their work. Needs major staff experience improvement.

we booked a superior suite with one king and two single bed and got a standard only. It was awkward as we had to sleep in one bed with our child and we actually paid more than for a standard room

Not really a 5 star property
Im vergleich zu anderen 5 Sterne Hotels in Peking in der gleichen Preisklasse ist das Grand Millenium klar enttäuschend. Ggf. hat es damit zu tun, dass es nicht unter westlichem sondern Singapore Management ist. Das Frühstück etwa ist völlig auf den asiatischen Geschmack orientiert (grosse Auswahl). Bei der westlichen Section des Buffets kann nur ein 4 Sterne Rating vergeben werden da viele Items fehlen. Die Housekeeping standards liessen auch zu wünschen übrig. Allgemein ist der staff im Hotel schlechter Trainiert und spricht schlechter ENglish als sonst im 5 Sterne Bereich in China. Der Swimming Pool wird auch von Non-guests genutzt (Fitness Club Mitglieder) daher hat man keine Ruhe.
