Good location for visiting tourist spots, but like any center of a large city, is old, not very clean and can be dangerous at night. The apart hotel is regular in general. Do not expect a hotel reception, because it is not. Lack of a good breakfast service, the reception staff and office are not friendly, with the exception of Nuri, Nicholas and Guido, who served us extremely well. If you need something, go directly to them. The room is comfortable, has a kitchen where we had coffee with friends, have a good bed, good bathroom, but there is no replacement towels, cleaning and other common services of a hotel, unless you request. In short, I would be back for the cost / benefit.

Very careful with any kind of service in Santiago, in particular taxi drivers, because if they notice that you are a tourist may want to take advantage. Always require that the taximeter is running and also requires the receipt at the end.

Nothing fancy, Reasonable Price
The hotel itself is really a set of condominiums. As such, the suite that I rented had a full kitchen, but no air conditioning, as is typical of the area. There was a fan, and the windows were open when I arrived. Altogether, it was comfortable, but I would not compare it to a hotel so much as a managed condo with very short-term leases. The pricing was very competitive for what they offered, especially on short notice. Compared to other places that I have stayed in Santiago that charged considerably more for the same amenities, I would consider using them again.

Central location
Apartment was well located in midtown, close to shopping and metro. Our apartment was all that was promised and more but parking is not free. We paid $15 per night. No breakfast was supplied and there were no safe deposit boxes in any apartments. The staff tried to be helpful but they spoke limited English.

A good place to pick up authentic souvenirs(turquoise, lapis lazuli jewelry) is nearby. It is right next to the Santa Lucia metro stop. It is an open air market with lots of stalls. It is a short walk from this apart hotel.

1st Time to SoAmerica
A Real Good Value - Met my expectations
Located in the older part of Santiago, it was well kept and had a friendly staff. I was a little confused at check in, apparently Ameristar controls the 10th floor and above. Bypass what appears to be the check in desk in the main lobby, take the elevator to the 10th floor, go to the right of elevator bank, and walk to the end of the hall to find the office.

Good value, good location, average service. Recommended with reserves
Price is good, rooms are comfortable, building is new, located downtown, a couple of blocks from the subway. Reception service was deficient. Due to overbooking I was transferred to another hotel of similar quality but I had to wait a long time for that and I had problems in accessing my room. I had to complaint strongly for the receptionist to help me solve the problem. Recommended with reserves.
