Quiet, peaceful place
The hotel is a typical Ramada, but in a great location. Open bay views and adjacent to a golf course. The beach is a disappointment as it has a rough coral surface and is shallow. The area scuba diving and jet skiis are the ebst.

Peaceful Paradise at the Grand Caymanian
The Grand Caymanian Resort is 5 minutes off the "beaten path" by car, but that is why I chose this hotel. I enjoy starting my day by walking thru the golf course road among the iguanas, roosters and chickens and the other wildlife(birds) that I do not get to see/enjoy back home. After a day spent sunning and beaching it on 7MB, I enjoy returning to the hotel to sit on my balcony and overlook the water without hearing the traffic of West Bay Rd. This hotel is exceptionally well maintained. The grounds outside have beautiful flower gardens. The pool is lovely. The rooms are very clean! Towels are plentiful, radio, alarm clock, dvd etc., hair dryer, kitchenette all in the room. There is a restaurant on site, although I have only had appetizers there. Staff is exceptional from gardener to mainenance crew, security staff. Alicia, Clarence, Ian, Jodian, Sharlene (all at the front desk) go above and beyond to be hospitable and welcoming and to start and end your day with a smile. Wonderful staff, wonderful hotel. *Definently rent a car** Bring bug spray- mosquitos are hungry** 7MB is absolutely beautiful this time of year- the water temp. is perfect!

Grand Caymanian- Peaceful stay
This is my 4th stay at Grand Caymanian. They have really improved the facilities. The beach area is looking fabulous. The second building is now open and I toured two style rooms. Beautiful, condo style look to them overlooking the beach. Real nice!! The hot tub was working and crowded at all times, day and evening. You do need to rent a car if staying at this property as it is about a 5 minute drive from 7MB. I enjoy this property as it is quiet, clean and the staff very hospitable.

Ramada Grand Cayman April 2010
Driving to the hotel was frustrating. The first road we took was blocked by a closed gate. We drove back out to 7 mile beach and found a sign that pointed us to the Ramada Inn. It was a long drive through the golf course to get there. When we got to the room exhausted, we had to fill out a long inventory list of room contents and turn it in to the front desk. A coffee maker was provided but NO COFFEE! No stores were nearby to purchase coffee. The pool and the landscaping were very pleasant. The ocean view was pretty. We stayed in a room with a king sized bed and a sofa bed. Since no roll away bed was available, one of us slept on the floor. The room was clean. The hotel was adequate, but I am in no hurry to go back.

Disappointed
Ramada Grand Caymanian Resort
I can't tell you what a disappointment this hotel was. It was under construction and noisy during the day, there is no shuttle bus two days a week and limited service M-W-F. The shuttle driver never came one day and we were forced to pay US $30.00 for a cab back to the hotel. Fighting at the front desk caused distress for which multiple apologies were offered in the following days. The water is nearly inaccessable from the "beach". Too remote, misrepresented for sure. Everything closes at 5 pm. Would never stay there again.

Nice for the money
We thought the hotel was nice and we liked the location because it was not in high traffic area. Very clean and staff was helpful. Food was good at their restaurant. Liked their Manager night. Definitely need a car. Though driving was hair raising. Very expensive there. If your from the USA., your dollar is $1.25 all the time. Made eating very expensive, the food was good everywhere. On Friday (happy hour)we had the best value at Aqua Beach. Drinks were buy 1/1 free and appetizers are 2 for $10. Also loved Calico Jacks on Seven mile beach. Excellent lunch. A six pack of beer at the store was $12. Snorkeling was fantastic and Stingray city was awesome.

Approach with Caution
I suggest that you do your homework and consider whether the Grand Caymanian will really suit your needs. Pay little attention to the hotel promo and read as many current reviews as you can find. I've been to Grand Cayman seven times and have never been left this dissatisfied by any other accommodation on the island. There are pluses, secluded, no traffic, several hammocks, Front Desk staff is friendly but uninformed at times. Grondskeepers are very friendly and always good for a chat. However: - DO NOT stay here if you intend to conduct business in any form. The wireless internet access leaves much to be desired and the voicemail system is NOT reliable. I learned of messages which were never recorded and one actual written message left with the desk which as never forwarded to me. God forbid that one of my elderly parents (over 80 yrs.) experienced a health emergency and needed to reach me--never mind my business contacts. - sooner or later you WILL want a rental car. - there are hot tubs but both seem to need repair. - balconies are nice, except the noise from the restaurant exhaust fan--and particularly the pool water pump--is heard from most rooms on the north side of the main hotel building; it runs about 12 hours a day. The rooms are impeccably clean and I tipped the housekeeper(s) accordingly. Finally, unless its VERY inexpensive, I will have to avoid this hotel on future visits. For hotel management, should you read this: yes, the internet really is read by millions of people every day. And yes, that can effect your business on a forum such as this. There is far too much accommodation competition on Grand Cayman. Hopefully you'll see the concern here.

Cheap, but not worth that.
In a week I was the only person I saw try the 'beach'. Rocky, shallow, grassy, ugh. Only on site amenities is an overpriced restaurant that no one used. You need a car because unless you sit in your room or the pool you will drive elsewhere. NUMEROUS messages left at the desk were never delivered.

Try Seven Mile divers or another dive shop instead of the on site shop which is more a concierge service than a dive shop.
