Awesome Accomodations

The hotel room, while being the smallest available, the studio, was very spacious. The staff was courteous, helpful, and genuinely friendly. The location was marvelous and the beach a joy each day. Cayman and Comfort Suites are AWESOME.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Take plenty of sunscreen; the beach is addictive and the sun is intense.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Make sure you get a rental car.Being able to go and not waiting on anyone was great. Because you will save money. Taxicab don't have meters so they basically charge what they want.

Comfort Suites; Comfortable & Affordable

This hotel is great for young couples who are looking for a clean, comfortable, and spacious hotel room at an affordable price. I used to live in Grand Cayman so I'm familliar with the exchange rate and how expensive it can be. Many hotels and resorts you are paying for (1) beach front and (2) the name. Don't get me wrong, the Ritz Carlton is way nicer and more luxurious then Comfort Suites, but you definitely pay for it. And all things considered, what you get for the price at Comfort Suites is a very good deal on an Island full of tourist rip offs. The rooms are all suites, of course not luxurious suites like you'd find at a 5 star hotel, but they are large, with a living area and kitchenette, (so you can grocery shop and eat in room if desired), and large comfy beds. They also have a complimentary breakfast which is descent, bagels, fruit, donuts, cereal, waffles, eggs sometimes, etc., and that will save you a lot of money because the prices of eating out on the island, even at the cheaper joints, are still quite pricey when you take into account the exchange rate. Although the hotel is not technically beach front, probably why you pay a lot less to stay there, it's right behind a resort on the beach, so it's basically beach front but without the increase in price for a beach front view, it's literally a 60 second walk to a beautiful stretch of beach on 7 mile beach. And the location is excellent b/c you are within walking distance to many of the restaurants and shops on island. Lastly, the only real drawback is the lack of amenities at the hotel, there is a fitness center the size of a closet, and a pool that is about 8 ft long (not great for kids or families) and a tiny little bar they call a restaurant that stops serving bar food at 9 pm, and with it room service stops at 9 as well. So if you want a more luxurious experience, don't stay here, but if you want to be comfortable and be in a good location to soak up all the island lifestyle, then Comfort suites is definitely a great choice, and it will end up saving you some cash that you can better spend renting a jet ski, pairasailing, taking a boat tour around island, or some other fun and exotic activity!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

When eating out always, ALWAYS check to see if there is an included gratuity of 15% or more on your bill. It's easy to assume that at a more casual place gratuity is not included, however most establishments on island, casual or formal, have an auto gratuity already included in your bills, so feel free to add on for good service, but make sure you aren't double tipping everywhere you go. Also check which currency your bills is in, most places tell you both, but some don't you don't want to short change the staff or overpay as a result. Lastly, the best breakfast in Cayman and best kept secret is Brittania golf course and restaurant, and best deal is 25 cent wing night every sunday at Royal Palms on the 7 mile beach. Enjoy!

basic but warm and friendly

Good location near 7 Mile Beach, walking distance to George Town, restaurants, brief walk to beach, easy to pick up tours from here. Basic suite; when it rained, we were stuck without a balcony or view. Helpful, friendly staff; small and less hectic than some of the resorts up the beach.

Great Place!

first class from beginning to end. Large suites are great specially with minikitchen. The walk to the beach is 3 minutes without having to cross the street. Right next to the Marriot. If you stay 5 nights they give a free trip for two to Stingray City. That's worth $100 right there. Also, the free breakfast which includes waffles, boiled eggs, cereal, bagles, fruits, etc. is worth at least $15 per person per day if you were to eat at a restaurant. Grand Cayman's food is expensive! Don't rent a car!. The local busses cost $2.50 per person and they go everywhere. Take the East Island tour for $50 per person and you see the other side of the island for 4 hours. We just came back and wished we were there now. P.S. Take your snorkeling gear. Fish are right at the beach by the Suites!

Spring break fun

General manager and sales manager handled overbooking situation very professionally. Asked if we would move to another hotel for my last night, which did not make me happy, but they upgraded us to the Ritz Carlton making the move very enjoyable. I would return to the Comfort Suites just because of the wonderful treatment by the entire staff.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Good variety of dining options within a reasonably short walk. Downtown George Town just a 5 min. ride at on bus for $2.50 US.
