A Good, Inexpensive Place To Sleep

In Saskatoon, it seems like all of the hotels are pretty expensive. Trying to satisfy my budget, this was the least expensive option I could find for my age (19) - some hotels require you to be 21 to check-in. There was a complimentary, small buffet breaking in the dining area (I didn't go), but it was nice to discover they offered this, as I didn't know about it beforehand. The room was just that - a room. In the heart of winter and cold there, I just cranked the thermostat up and was able to stay warm all night. There was a decent sized TV with basic channels, and a small desk in the corner. Overall, if you're looking for a deluxe hotel, this isn't it. If you're on a budget and need a place to sleep, this will be perfect for you. No complaints for an "average" hotel. Good eating is at "Ricky's" a half-block away.

In the Best Western hotel, just a half block South (past the McDonald's), there is a restaurant named "Ricky's." Great 'all day' restaurant. Great breakfast, great dinner, and not at all crowded on the 2 times I went there.

Adequate

Staff were very helpful and accommodating although the motel is old and dated. For a one night stay - getting in late and moving on the next day - it was fine for me.

A place to sleep

The hotel continues to undergo updating. The room was clean, but very basic. If you are just looking for a place to sleep, then this is perfect. If you want creature comforts like a big screen TV or a whirlpool tub in your room, then do not stay here. There is a continental breakfast available to hotel guests now. Check in/out process was easy and hotel staff where extremely nice. Easy access to airport, short 5 minute ride.

Value in a crazy city

I have travelled a fair a bit in work(construction) and Saskatoon hotel prices are quite high compared to banff, calgary, edmonton, and Fort Mac. A good valued place to stay. I like the exterior access. I'd say add a breakfast, some more towels in the room, and either then that I will be back. Cheers to the great staff.

Meh, Not The best, but okay I guess.

Definitely nice people at check-in and check-out. The rooms were nothing special. The real problems I had were the door to the site didn't fully close, and the shower did not have a scald guard system on it. So I could tell when others were using their rooms. SUCKS! Oh, also, the beds, LIKEA STIFF SHEET OF PLYWOOD. Also, what's the use in having a bathroom exhaust fan, if it doesn't work. LOL

Thriftlodge

Was a place to rest my head. The pillows were patheticly small. We were just spending the night then travelling on. The rooms need to be updated in order to compete with other chains. couldn't find the ice machine either. Wouldn't stay again.
