Super 8 Quebec City

Is a new hotel. The place is quiet. easy to park. the rooms are comfortable. The problem is the breakfast. small place to take it

It was a good location for traveling and shopping. The "walk to restaurants" only led us to an expensive one next door. Room was clean, but could have been refurbished. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel appeared better at the first sight than we expected. New facilities, spacious hallway, and the indoor pool with slides that you probably saw only in water parks. But problems surfaced up when we checked in... there was no non-smoking room left (although we booked two weeks in advance), the only elevator was out of order and we had to drag seven luggage bags through the stairs all the way to the 4th floor. The breakfast was good but not consistent. There were sausages, eggs, bagels, and muffins one day, and bread only the other day.

The Super 8 in Quebec City is well located if you are driving, with easy access from both Route 20 and Route 40. If you fly in you definitely need a car to get anywhere. There is a lot of parking available. It seems to be a great place for children: the pool area was always full of kids having a good time, so much so that we did not bother to use that facility. The health club area is tiny. The breakfast is basic, but there was a good choice of breads, muffins, bagels and pastries, as well as a very popular pair of waffle makers. The eating area is also basic - just cafeteria-style tables- and very noisy. There is only one restaurant wihtin walking distance, a Chinese buffet that opens for dinner. The staff were very helpful and met all our needs promptly. The room was large, clean. I would recommend this hotel for those travelling with children, and for anyone who just wants clean, appropriate accommodation and who does not plan to spend much time in their room.

we arrived late--no problem checking in. our request to have rooms side-by-side was granted. smoking room was available. lobby smelled like chlorine from nearby indoor pool but that was OK with us. good free breakfast with freshly made waffles, OJ and decent coffee. bring your own yogurt. good value and comfort for the money, and a quick drive or $30 taxi to the old town at les Petites Champlaines.

This was an excellent hotel for the price. I have stayed in several other hotels on the same street, and I was most pleased with the Super 8. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the staff was helpful and spoke both French and English well. If you have kids, they will like the waterslide and pool. Its a little dangerous; the pool is shallow, less than 4 feet deep and the waterslide is super fast. I'm an average sized adult and I hit the bottom of the pool every time I went on it. My wife and I took to calling it the "Slide of Death". Dangerous, but still fun. The location of the hotel is probably the only down side if your plan is to visit the city. Its not too difficult a drive to get there, but you are about 20 minutes out.
