Basic needs met

The hotel offered everything a person needs for an accommodation but it did not offer anything above a basic experience. The rooms were outdated. The towels were thin and scratchy. The lighting was dim and the room temperatures were uneven -either very cold in bathroom to very warm in other room. The carpet was thin and did not seem clean.

Residential area hotel in Quebec City

A typical budget hotel really good if you're driving, too far from the centre otherwise. Around 50 min to 1 hour on foot, so not recommended. Located in the residential area, 15 min by bus No 800 to the old town, 20 min opposite direction to Montmorency Falls. The room was good though, everything in order and very clean, but felt very dark, the lighting must definitely be improved. There's no day curtains, so quite inconvenient if your room faces the street as anyone can observe you inside. We had two queen sized beds of an average comfort (not the greatest, but not too bad either) The breakfast really minimal - toast, boiled eggs, jam, apples+bananas, coffee, muffins, orange juice. Better than nothing though. The pool looked clean but we did not try it. Wifi did not work the first day of arrival, but the second day we had it working somehow. I would say darkness in the room was the main issue for me.

Very good value

Make the reservation on OrbiXtz. Spend 3 nights at four of us for a very decent price. Room was nice (2 separate rooms within the same hotel room, one for the kids, one for us) Room was clean, equipped with a fridge and coffee maker Breakfast and swimming pool were decent, but good for what we pay for. If you have a car, you're only 10-15 min from being parked downtown

Not a bad value, but stay in Old Town instead

It's outdated, it's not particularly clean, the toilets kept running, blankets were thin and the quilts undersized for Canada in winter, they apparently had WiFi internet, but the password they gave us didn't work. The floor was an ancient looking faux wood linoleum. The staff was nice and I understand it is Quebec and French is the spoken language, but go to a more upscale hotel and a larger percentage of the staff will speak English which is certainly a helpful convenience for some tourists. As far as location it's a couple miles from downtown which puts it just outside walking distance. A cab was about $10 from the Grand Alee. They had a Continental Breakfast, video slot machines, a bar, a pool (cold, small, dirty, and without a hot tub or stocked towels), but ultimately unless I was there on business and trying to save I'd spend a few extra bucks per night and stay in the Old City on my next visit. It's the sort of roadside worn down place that is fine when you're travelling through, but doesn't make for a great destination, and the location isn't ideal enough to warrant the step down in amenities over other Quebec offerings. It definitely looked better than the other motels on the Boulevard St. Anne, however, which I'd definitely steer away from. On the upside it did look like they might have allowed pets, we saw several while we were there, so if you want to travel with your pooch it might be a viable option.

It was OK +

The staff was kind enough and hardwood floor with flat TV were good too. Comparing the price, I think it was not too bad at all. I already recommended to a friend who wants to travel to Quebec soon.
