Wedding Weekend
called ahead to make sure reservation was in place. NO, but desk person looked into it right away and saw what had happened to have it "removed", and fixed it...all in one call...that was impressive. Hotel is old, but in good condition. Well located in old city, easy walk to other hotels, shopping, dining. Room was a little tight with 3 adults in it, but we managed. We did not experience much "noise", but friends who stayed at another time thought " the walls were thin". Staff very friendly and helpful. Did not eat in hotel, nice lounge, bar area though. No work out room, but hills of Quebec City were enough.

Great Location for a great value
My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Clarendon for a four day weekend in Quebec. We decided not to rent a car so this hotel was perfectly located for all the sites in Quebec. The lobby had the charm of an older hotel, but the rooms were updated and had all the amenities we required. The staff always smiled and were very helpful.

Terrible airline +accomodations
The city of Quebec is beautiful and we could enjoy it more if the flights and accomodations were not so bad. [...] The beds in the Clarendon hotel are HARD (I think it could be more confortable to sleep directly on the floor). We travel a lot and, this trip for the reasons described above, has been one of the most dissapointing one. [...]

This hotel is a gem!!
We stayed for 4 nights. It was our third time in this hotel in 4 years and each experience is always superb. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous, including helping me out with an accidental double online booking problem. It is a quaint, charming and well-maintained establishment with a comfortable lobby and delightful bar and lounge, where one can enjoy jazz on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with the huge windows open to the street where the clip-clop of horses can be heard as they cart visitors around the city. Our room was equally ample and comfortable. For anyone who wants a totally central location in the heart of the old city of Quebec, the Clarendon is a fantastic home base. We were able to find an abundance of fine dining, street musicians and even an historic walking tour minutes away by foot. It is the oldest hotel in Quebec, but don't let that fool you. I would stack this up against the "name brands" any day.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
Go to the boardwalk at the Frontenac or any surrounding street and you will get an abundance of wonderful street music, all for the price of a tip. There's no need to pay to see a show someplace.

We were very pleased with this
We were very pleased with this lovely old well-preserved piece of Quebec history. Everything was wonderful, except that we were given a very small room, which looked out at an enclosed courtyard, which unfortunately was at eye-level!! We would have paid more for a room with a nicer view, but all in all, we were very happy with our 3 night stay. (We were disappointed with the quality of the "free" breakfast, and opted to pay for the much better buffet on Sunday) I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a more reasonably priced stay, which this very fine hotel provided.

Honeymoon Travelers
Excellent staff and accommodations
The hotel is located across from City Hall and a very short walk to all of the shopping and attractions in the Old City. My wife and I stayed at the Clarendon for our honeymoon and the staff was very kind, knowledgable, and helpful. The rooms were beautiful with wonderful views of the Old City and the St. Lawrence River. Room service was very quick and friendly.

Very nice stay
We appreciated to live in Old Quebec, near of the interesting sites, without using the car. Very nice surrounding. Good restaurants. The hotel is old but clean and has a great charm. Staff is very fine. Good food and service at the hotel's restaurant
