A very romantic and fun atmosphere

The manager of the hotel rooms was great. She understood our concerns and resolved them. The concierge were helpful with suggesting tours and directions but we needed a little more encouragement to seek out alternative situations. For instance we would have like to see the underground ruins but did not discover it until it was time to leave. Also we had a hard time getting a reservation at the hotel dining room.

beautiful - from the outside

We booked a twin room, paid @250/night for what was your basic $75 - 127 room with cheap laminate furniture, lackluster décor, and inferior paintings on the walls. The lobby had seating for 11, no other common rooms, but I heard that the meeting rooms were supposed to be nice. I would say that the best way to enjoy this hotel would be to book a place with a view of it, it is really beautiful from the outside.

iconic, imagable place to stay

From the first sighting of the Frontenac as you climb the hill, you know that this will not be a typical "hotel stay". The service is superb; the facility amazing; the staff exceptionally friendly. I personally stay at as many "classic, old hotels" as possible: the Ritz in Boston, the Stanley, Estes Park, The Pfister in Milwaukee, the Palmer House in Chicago. The Frontenac matches the interiors and the service and the elegant feel, but the imagable facade makes this stay even better. Quebec City itself is a destination, but staying at the Frontenac upgrades your stay significantly. The view over the river in the bar and restaurant, the proximity to shopping and dining in both Lower Town and the Old City; the direct access to the Terrace--all combine to make this a great get away experience.

Chateau Frontenac - The Quebec Experienc

The beautiful setting of the Chateau Frontenac right in the heart of Quebec City sets the stage for your trip. Since Quebec City is an old city, roads are not set out on a grid and can be confusing - enter the friendly, helpful and kind staff. Maps, directions, recommendations, reservations, even someone to take a picture of your group - the staff of this hotel but the SERVICE back in Customer Service! Rooms, spotless and perfectly attended daily are only the start of the enjoyment at this historic hotel.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

Before setting out to enjoy the town, ask at the front desk for a detail map. They are more than happy to show you the layout of the city and where you want to go. Pack your walking shoes and enjoy this city on foot. If needed, the doorman will of course get you a taxi.
