Very nice Hotel
This was a very pleasant experience. The Hotel is under renovations and there was construction under our window. A little bit noisy but being from NY it wasn't to bad.

Quebec City Landmark
Le Chateau Frontenac is a remarkable hotel, however, our room was overpriced even at the discount price. Also, Orbitz should let its customers know exactly what kind of room you are getting. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and approximately 15 of the 618 guest rooms have the view of a construction elevator. We did not realize this until the following morning after we opened the curtains and saw the elevator outside our window. Hotel - great. Orbitz - not so great.

Happy Wife
The Palace on the Hill
We were celebrating the end of a job and a beginning of a new life. Our first night we had a fancy dinner in the hotel. My husband had called ahead to ask for a custom-made "death cake" to be served for dessert. It was a black casket with headstone, skull & crossbones, snake and R.I.P. It was served with 4 lit sparklers and a total surprise. Food was delish, room was comfy, view was spectacular. Our couples massage was a great way to end a relaxing, celebratory weekend. Many thanks!

Overall the hotel was a great
Overall the hotel was a great place to stay to see old Quebec being an institution with lots of tradition. Standard rooms are a bit worn but spacious and comfortable. Also the lobby area and the lower deck somewhat over-commercialized. The lounge was very cozy though.

Historic ambience
Extremely friendly staff. Beautifully historic hotel. It is sometimes crowded in the lobby with groups, but the rooms were generally quiet and inviting. Food is very expensive, but there are lots of quaint and less expensive options for dining nearby. The Old City of Quebec is worth seeing, and staying at the Frontenac adds to the historical adventure.

There is a lovely historical walking tour that travels around the ramparts of the Old City. You can get a guide book for $5, versus paying $35-40 per person for a guided tour. The nearby Ile d'Orleans is also a wonderful side trip. It maintains the flavor of old Quebec and is a short trip from Quebec City.

Chateau Frontenac
This landmark needs no further recommendation. My impression is that, if you go to Quebec (city), you either stay here or wish you did. We loved dining on the terrace overlooking the river (twice). One possible criticism is that one must join the "President's Club" (free) in order to get free internet access; seems a nuisance, but it also included free bike rentals, which we also used, though the person helping us left one detail off of the helpful map to the bike path, and we rode for a hour in the wrong direction (still a beautiful ride, though). Very pleasant to walk around.

Room literally next door to two hotel rooms being used for conference with many participants complete with refreshment buffet in hall 8-5 daily our entire stay! We even paid extra for that room with a view!!! Desk staff cordial & helpful. Not sure why there are doormen, we had to walk around them to get in more than once!Biggest complaint-charge for internet-even wireless in the lobby!!!In this day and age, some free internet expected somewhere in facility. Not the same quality as our last visit 20 years ago.Hotel is beautiful but have to say we would shop for another place next visit.

Take good walking shoes. Old city area is safe to walk in and beautiful to enjoy, but good shoes are a must for those hills!
