Great value and location
Friendly staff, one block to the old city walls, and inexpensive. Also there was a small romantic ice skating rink right in front of the hotel.

Ashton's has the best poutine in the city. It's not bad, the staff doesn't speak much English. Get the poutine with ground beef, and grilled peppers and onions. It's basically a fast food restaurant so you may want to order out and eat at the promenade.

Incredible location and a wonderful stay
The hotel staff was most gracious and we spoke virtually no French. Each and every one tried to help in anyway they could. The room was great, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast buffet was perfect. The valet service made it easy to deal with the car in the middle of downtown and cheaper than parking it myself.

Quebec City getaway
Good reviews led us to this hotel and we were not disappointed! This is just what we were looking for. Steps away from the St. Jeans gate to the old city, comfortable and very clean rooms, good internet service, and a 1st class bilingual staff. I stayed in hotels for a living during my corporate career and they simply don't get any better than this for what we desired. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Quebec City.

Great Services and Best Location in Town
Staffs are extremely helpful. Room and bathroom are super clean and tidy. Location is superb, right beside the wall and steps away from old city and all the nice restaurants.

Short walk from hotel
Instead of dining in the old Quebec City, I would recommend to go to St Roch area. There are tons of nice restaurant with amazing atmosphere on St Joseph Street. The price is similar to those in the old city but yet they are much better value and quality

Very Helpful Staff
The hotel is right on the edge of the old city. We were able to walk to just about everything we wanted to see within Quebec. The staff was very helpful. To a person they were glad to have us and interested in answering all of our questions, including those we should have known the answers to. The concierge recommended a couple of restaurants that were exceptionally good and well suited to our preferences and budget. (The Hobbit and Moss Bistro Belge) He spent time explaining the bus system we needed to use for one of the restaurants that was down near the waterfront. This is not a bargain hotel, but well worth what we paid. (Quebec is not a bargain destination) They took good care of our car (in $20 per day valet parking) and great care of us. We would stay there again.

Tres Bien!
This hotel has the most consistently friendly and helpful staff of any hotel I've ever stayed in. Magnifique! Rooms are not opulent, but neither is the price. The rooms are in great shape and kept wonderfully clean. And, if you're interested in being able to walk to the Citadelle, Parliament, the Quartier Petit Champlain and Antiques Row, this location is ideal. We would definitely stay here again.

Short walk from hotel
Tatum's for an ample and healthy breakfast (delicious fruit selections) and Le Cochon Dingue along the Saint Laurence (a fairly long walk for most folks) for traditional Quebecois cuisine.
