Perfect location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast. Clean and spacious room - comfortable enough for a family of five (incl. a teenager). The only negative was the extremely small bathroom. Overall a great value!!

family with tiny shampoo....

Crummy sofa bed. Needed to call to get shampoos, blankets, soaps towels etc. No one came in to clean or make the beds in three nights. Great breakfast - and the folks that worked the breakfast buffet were delightful! That started everyday off on the right foot! For three adults it was a good value overall.

Best location and good service!

I stayed here for 2nights and I liked it overall. The only unpleasing part of this hotel was that my room had a weird smell. I got used to the smell in a while, but every time I stepped into my room, the smell bothered me again for a second. I don't know where it was from. My room was even upper level(idk what to call it) than standard room with 1king bed, sofabed, kichen etc. The first thing I liked was its perfect location in the middle of downtown. Abt 20mins walking distance to Old Montreal, just a couple of blocks to the Montreal Museum of Fine Art. You can find pretty much everything around hotel, such as theater and pharmacy. Oh and one of the clerks told me the bar right in front of hotel was one of must-go hip lounges getting more popular recently if you'd like to enjoy night life ;) and the complimentary breakfast they offer is pretty good. Good food and service. Really enjoyed it! Oh and I appreciate they stored my luggage after check-out for hours. Some people leave for a month and it's find with them.

Fantastic vacation!

The staff checked me in without a problem and were very helpful. The Metro was one block away making it very convenient to get around. This hotel is in close proxiimity to most of the major sites...Mont Royal, The Olympic Stadium, The Montreal Casino, Notre Dame Basilica, China Town, major shopping areas. I could not ask for more.

Family with teens

Overall we were pleased with the hotel, its staff and the value. It is located very close to the Metro - Peel Station and Bus route 107 has stops along Rue Peel. The only disappointment was the size of our bathroom. Only one person could fit in it at a time and the door just barely cleared the front of the toilet. A tight squeeze for even one person. So we also used the sink in the kitchen for things like hand washing, brushing teeth, etc.... if someone was already in the bathroom. Although we didn't use the service, the hotel offers grocery shopping for no additional fee. Seems like it would be a good thing for anyone who planned to cook during their stay. There was a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, oven/stove, dishwasher, etc.... and all the plates, silverware, pots/pans. And if you only needed a snack, there was a small convenience store located in the lobby. Each afternoon there were also freshly baked cookies at the front desk - we made sure we stopped by for a quick snack.

Get the 3 day transportation pass for $16. Unlimited rides on airport bus, city buses and Metro. We purchased ours at the airport at the automated kiosks. Everything has an option for English or French so there was no problem understanding how to make the purchase. But if you purchase the transportation passes at a Metro station and you want to use a credit card, for some reason, you can't use a card that has been issued outside of Canada. In that case, you need to use cash. The kiosk at the airport accepted a US issued credit card without problem.

Good Value

Marriott Residence Inn at Montreal Downtown offers excellent location for tourists. The Peel Metro station, The Underground, and lots of restaurants are close-by. "Ste catherine St" is only two blocks away. Free breakfast in expensive Montreal is a great value. Staff is very helpful. The hotel is on Grayline Tour buses list for free pick-up if you are taking one of their sightseeing tours. The terrace on 23rd floor offers great view. You could be on a treadmill in the gym on the same level and take in the great view. All in all we enjoyed our week-long stay at this location.

A Family Hotel

The best 3-star hotel I've stayed in. It met our needs--mine and my two grandchildren--but would not have if I had been traveling with a companion. Its staff was simply wonderful and helpful, and its location is perfect. While there, we went, among other places, to the museum of science in the Old City ant to the BioDome and Insectarium in Olympic Park.

Buy the 3-day metro ticket when traveling on public transportation. Exchange money at the bank instead of at other sources, to get the best rate.
