Great Hotel! Great Location!
Great Marriott Hotel ina Great Location. I came to Montreal to see a concert at the Bell Centre and the Hotel is right next to venue. You can even get to the venue through an underground tunnel if the weather is not good. It is also only a short walk to St. Catherine St where a lot of activites and cafes are located.

The Funny-Shaped Room Windows Hotel
The Chateau Champlain is now a Marriott Hotel and is located two blocks from popular St. Catherine St. in a very accessible section of Montreal. It's two blocks from the main railroad station, underneath the Queen Elizabeth Hotel and just several blocks from Cresent St. - the street of the famous restaurants and nightlife. Good-sized rooms, 32" flat screen TVs, a desk and task chair and an easy chair. You can change the sheets every day or "go green" and change them every 3rd day. There is a small pool, a small spa and a free 24-hour fitness center. They don't have in-room safes but they do have 24-hour access to safe deposit boxes like real banks. The hotel has 5 high-speed elevators and it's own elevator access to the subway system (Metro) at the Bonaventure stop and it is only one block from the Bell Centre with easy indoor access to Place Du Canada. There is also a nice bar and restaurant on the 1st floor with a convenience store, a muffin/breakfast shop and a Starbucks also. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous, multi-lingual and knowledgable. There is a 24 hour bus (747 Express) from the airport to Rene-Laveque Boulevard that makes several stops, then on to downtown and is close to many hotel locations in Montreal for only $8.00 cdn. One such 747 bus stop is only a block away from the Chateau, the Sheraton Centre and two from QE and Novotel. A taxi ride will easily cost you $35 - 40 cdn. but they do charge you for additional passengers if you make separate stops. As a quick-tip: If you check-in early, on or before 3:00 PM, just ask for rooms on the 20-39 floors.

Love this hotel!
Love this hotel! Exterior is a 1970s disaster with half-moon windows for the rooms. Interior feels like a hotel that tries to be classier than it is, but guess what, I love it! Lots of character, friendly and steps from the Bell Centre where the Montreal Canadiens NHL hockey team plays. Walking distance to great shopping on Ste-Catherine Street. Enjoy!

Good location, good price
The Montreal Marriott is a little faded around the edges but makes up for it in comfort and friendly service. We liked our room, which was comfortably appointed with an old world decor, a large window and an excellent view of the St. Lawrence River. The Marriott's location is a major advantage with easy access to the underground shopping mall, the train station and the downtown area. It's a nice family friendly, business friendly hotel.

Classy and convenient
The reviews on this place seemed to be a bit of a mixed bag, but leaned towards the positive so I decided to go for it. I am glad I did. I wanted a place where I wouldn't need a car to get around and this was the perfect place for that. Not only was the location good, but the staff was very refined and attentive, the check-in was a breeze, the very friendly housekeeper kept my room tip-top, the Concierge was very knowledgable and in control of things and the hotel has a very classy, refined feel to it. Most of the negative comments I have read relate to the upkeep, and say that the hotel is old and worn, which is true to an extent. The chairs in the room are old, and the wallpaper could use a bit of touching up, but that personally doesn't bother me and certainly wouldn't discourage me from staying here again on my next trip to Montreal.

Hotels that are connected to the Montreal Metro are super convenient and make it real easy to get around the city without needing a car. Traffic is real bad in the city esp. during rush hour and parking is VERY expansive.

Good night's sleep, good location
As our day was filled with sightseeing we used the hotel for sleeping mostly, did not use dining room or even look around the hotel. Accomodations were fine for short stay...bathroom lacking space but vanity area a kind of plus (mostly for dressing as lighting not great for make up application.) Pool was dissapointing in size but gym decent. Best asset was the bed and beautiful spacious view looking over the park in front of the hotel. We enjoyed breakfast/room service with a view! A real asset with Metro located under hotel.

Easy to take the bus from the airport to this hotel if you have luggage on wheels/lightweight bags. Cost about 15/couple vs. cab ride maybe $40.00.

Tried to overcharge
The hotel tried to bill me an extra 70$ for having 4 people even though I specified that 4 people were staying when I booked with orbits. It was very tacky for them to do that without telling me. No free breakfast or refrigorator. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.
