Don't stay at this hotel if you want to sleep

This hotel seems to be very popular with young people who are wanting a noisy night out. There doesn't seem to be any hotel policy on noise, and for the first time in my life we had to ring the front desk (at 1 a.m.)to ask them to get the people in the neighbouring rooms to turn down their loud music. This they did, but there was a continuous stream of young people arriving back right through the night, so that we didn't get to sleep till 5 a.m. We did eat at the hotel restaurant but didn't appreciate being told to give a 15% tip for what was very poor service. Close to Concordia University if you have business there (which we didn't).

good if you are a budget traveler

We stayed there for one night on our way back to NY. It is def one of the hotels you can easily walk to the busy street, find good restaurants and not spend too much money.

Nothing that special

We went to Montreal for a long weekend and found the hotel to be a bit disappointing. The bed was the biggest problem: very hard mattress and pillows like sponges. Also the pool was not very inviting. But compared to other hotels on the area the price was reasonable so in that sense I guess we got what we paid for. Also, if you want to find authentic bistros and independently owned shops you'll need to walk very far or take the metro. The area is very touristy with a lot of jacked up prices. Next time I'll look for something in a more residential part of the city.

Unbeatable location for the price

The Maritime Hotel was great for the price. It was centrally located close to the area where all the action was with great shopping, food and night life on Crestant street. We parking was rather cheap at the hotel which was nice but spots were very limited (we got the last one). The room was a little shabby there was a small hole in our closet door from someone smashing the front door against it and out toilet leaked every time it flushed so that was our only complaints. We didn't spend much time in our room so what we needed it for (sleep) was perfect. O yea the wireless internet was also free so we were also able to call home using Google for free! I'd stay again.
