Nice, but not nice enough
Well located in Montreal's Golden Mile, Loews Vogue Hotel has some very nice offerings. Large, tastefully appointed rooms, excellent room service food and service, a polite and friendly staff. But Lowes positions itself as a high-end property and that's a bit off the mark. The room furniture was chipped and drawers and doors to both cabinetry and closets were difficult to close without a jiggle or two. The hot water tap at the bathroom sink required monster-truck torque to turn and the noise level filtering up from the street was of prison riot levels. So while I liked the hotel overall, I think that for $200+ per night it should achieve more.

Great... but not Exceptional
Wife and I spent, 30 yrs old, spent 3 nights at the Vogue. The hotel staff provided exceptional service. Always referred to as Mr. and Mrs. so-and-so. Very helpful with suggestions or info about the city depending on your interests. Oh- and they will exchange money for you at the front desk. Business center next to check-in desk had two high-speed desktop Dell computers hooked up to a laser-jet printer and they worked great. On your way in or out, you can check email, browse information on sites you are about to see, etc. - very convenient! had apples, lemonade, tea always out. The fireplace sitting area off to the side of the main lobby was very relaxing. The fireplace was putting out some heat! great to sit for a minute and gather your thoughts, read a magazine, etc. Excellent hotel security- had to swipe your room key in the elevator for it to work. The room- I read a lot of reviews and we were slightly disappointed with the room. The photo online does depict the room correctly, but the carpeting needed replacing, lighting was not very good, and you I could here the garbage trucks every now and again behind the hotel. But besides those shortfalls, the room was great. The marble bathroom was lovely and the jetted deep soaker tub was GREAT! Expecially with the flat panel TV and remote control IN THE BATHROOM! OH- AND THE BED - OUTSTANDING! After a long day, we could not wait to get back into that nice big comfortable down king bed! We went skiing at Mont Blanc, worth the hour drive if you are into skiing. Montreal Casino was 4 small floors, but packed on a Saturday and plenty of tables and slots. Location of hotel was off St. Catherine street which is the MAIN strip of (new) Montreal. Walk one block to Crescent Street and there is everything you could want (restaurants, bars, action...) Obviously, there is fine cuisine all over, but for those interested in a regular meal, walk on block to Dundees. Great atmosphere -restaurant (reminded me a bit like a Chili's). Montreal is just a great city, it was like a mini NYC and we can't wait to go back. For great insight into the history of the city, be sure to visit the The Musée d'archéologie et d'histoire de Montreal - Pointe-á- Calliére.. it has a great short video on the history of Montreal and the underground maze of its foundation of the original building on the site where montreal was founded was a site to see.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
There are two parking lots right next to hotel that are 24 hours. Save your money on $32/day valet service and go for the parking lot. Seemed like a very safe city/area.
