Great Location
Le Meridien Versailles is conveniently located just outside of the heart of downtown Montreal - just minutes walk from bars, dining, museum of art, and other attractions. My room was clean and spacious, but other people traveling with me had a different room which they described as small and cramped - so apparently standard rooms can vary considerably. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, the room wasn't any place I'd want to spend a significant amount of time in (other than sleeping), but the price with the location made this a very good place to stay and somewhere I would stay again.

Register for SPG before you stay - I believe the rooms available for Starwood members are superior to standard rooms for same price.

Family trip
If you're looking for shopping, you will like this location. Just 5 min from shopping street. If you are looking to go to old city, be careful. It is around 40 min walk. Hotel looks good. For old city I think you can try different hotel. If you don't care walk 40 min, this hotel be good choice. Nice staff. Hotel is clean. $25 for hotel parking or $15 for public parking just 2 blocks from hotel.

Lacking Love
I came into this having read mixed reviews of the property. A line from one particular review that kept coming back to me during my stay was "A hotel in search of an identity." I couldn't agree more. To be more specific, much of the details of this property(besides the lobby and the restaurant) are way out of date. They're trying to maintain the image of the Le Meridian brand by glamming up the lobby and the elevator, but once you step out of the elevator, one begins to notice the ugliness. Peeling wallpaper, carpet edges that have not seen a vacuum cleaner in years, cracked marble tiles in the showers, and old furniture that makes even the less Mysophobic folks question whether they would want to take a seat. This place needs a major renovation. In my opinion, save your money. If you have the means, drop the extra dime and go with Sofitel, if you can't, go Novotel, it's fairly new, isn't trying to be fancy, and knows exactly where it belongs.

Not Applicable
Catch the 747 bus link which stops close by from the airport, a lot cheaper than a taxi at $7 each but make sure you have the correct change available for each person

A Decent Montreal Hotel
Hotel is setup more like a bed and breakfast. The rooms are very small even is you get an upgraded room. There was no actual desk to work at only a bed and a small sofa chair. The view out of the room was of a brick wall. That said the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
