A Great Home Base for Exploring a Beautiful City!

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Zero 1 very much. The location makes it easy to explore Old Montreal, the Old Port, Chinatown, etc. on foot. The hotel seems quite new, and while its nightclub/industrial aesthetic isn't my favorite, it was perfectly clean, the bathroom seemed brand new, the linens were much better than you might expect at this price point, and the bed was wonderfully comfy. A huge plus for us was the fact that our room (and every room, from what we could tell) had its own high speed WiFi hot spot. We really appreciated not having to wander about in search of decent WiFi reception. All in all, a real winner!

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

We had two exceptional dinners at Bocata, 310 St. Paul O., in Old Montreal. Delicious, creative "foodie" dishes, without pretense or exorbitant prices.

Love the Loft

I think the location was perfect and central to most things. The Village is a 15 minute walk, Old Montreal is close, the Place des Artes is very close with Transportation nearby. I thought the Loft rooms were spacious and I liked the modern design. WiFi router in the room is a plus, and the front desk staff are friendly. Good value, and I would definitely come back!

modern, clean and simple

nice lobby, great location - close to downtown (but not right in the financial district). Our room was nicely laid out (it was the standard suite -- or 'zero 1 loft'). The hotel staff mistakenly gave us a standard room, but then reviewed my booking with Orbiz to confirm that I did indeed book a loft. The space is well-laid-out, comfortable, clean, with better than average amenities, nice soaps, great shower, comfortable firm bed. Overall, we were very happy with our experience at this hotel, and feel its a great value!

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Check with City of Montreal's website, as we saw a great winter light show of fireworks, right from our hotel room. I believe it is continuing every Saturday at 8:00 Our room was on the 11th floor, with a perfect, unobstructed view of Old Montreal (where the fireworks were). I believe the show ends January 8, 2012. It was fantastic!

location

I picked this hotel for its location, which is a relatively short walk to the Convention Center. The staff are nice and courteous. The rooms are on the small side with minimalist furniture. The beds are a bit on the firm side. There is no bathtub and the shower is pretty small. The walls are thin and you can hear other people playing music or the elevator. For the price, it's not a bad hotel if you want to be close to downtown. They offer free muffins, juice, tea, and coffee in the morning and free wireless internet in your room, which is a plus. I would recommend this hotel for anyone interested in being close to the Convention Center.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

It's a short walk to the Convention Center for those of you attending conference. It's also right next to one of the gates in Chinatown. The mall (Desjardins) is a couple of blocks away.
