Great downtown location
St. Denis Hotel was perfectly located within walking distance to Old Montreal, 2 streets from the metro and numerous restaurants. We couldn't have been happier (except for free parking but at least it was conveniently around the corner).

Cheap Clean Hotel With Bathroom
The hotel met my expecations: I only wanted a clean cheap comfortable room with a bathroom and that's what I got. I went in November and although you could not adjust the radiator heater, it kept my room warm. The room is equipped with an iron, ironing board, blow dryer and coffee marker. The location is great for people traveling without kids who want to be near a large metro station like Berri Uqam. Beware there are drug dealers and homeless people at Berri Uqam. On the bright side, you can take the 747 Express bus to the airport for $8. Inside Berri Uqam there is a Gare De Autocars (Bus Station) and this is where you get the 747 bus to go to the airport.

Great hotel in a great location
We were very pleased with this hotel. It was nothing fancy, but very clean and nicely appointed. And the price was very reasonable. The location was perfect. Just a 10 minute walk from the old city and a 2 minute walk from the metro. It was a real find.

Long walk from hotel
The Commensal Restaurant is a wonderful vegetarian buffet. The food is all tasty and there is great variety. You pay by weight and it can be a little pricey (I think there is a maximum) but the quality of the food makes it well worth while. It's about a 10-15 min. walk from the hotel on Rue St. Denis.

Quaint and Quiet in Montreal
Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was quiet! Great restaurants in walking distance of the hotel along with great shopping at a mall about 2 blocks away. Public transportation also very close by and if a cab was desired, they were easy to flag on the street in front of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends, and if I return to Montreal would most definitely stay there again.

Good value for money
Good value for money due to location, and the bedroom itself (size and quality), but should include breakfast, even if it is just with simple things, such as croissants, muffins, coffee, and juice.

Woman traveling alone
This was my first trip to Montreal. Saw good reviews of Hotel St. Denis, all were true. As a woman traveling alone, I would not hesitate to stay here again. Very clean, close to all types of transit (Metro, bus and bikes) and walkable to many places of interest-Old Montreal, Chinatown, Canal, etc. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Tips: Take the 747express bus from airport to Berri/UQAM stop-within one block of Hotel St. Denis for $8. Get the public transit passes-good for 24hrs, 72 hrs, or more and good on bus and Metro. I also road the Bixi Bikes EVERYWHERE- $5 a day, you park, leave it, then get another when you are ready to move on. Lots of homeless/beggers, but not aggressive like some cities. I felt very safe. Great trip!

L Express. 3900 Block of St. Denis. Hard to find, but so-ooo worth it. Was recommended by locals and it was the best meal of the trip. May need reservations, but I went early and sat at the bar. I was treated like a queen. Food was what I was anticiapting-exceptional.

Excellent
An amazing little hotel, very "boutique" without the glamour. Rooms were clean, bed was fabulous, location excellent. It had a flat-screen TV. Many restaurants CLOSE by. It is just minutes from Old Montreal and a block off the east end of St. Catherine's Street. The price was great for a budget traveller and the accomodations superior for the budget traveller. Since we were road tripping, the parking around the corner was a big bonus.
