Good value - watch out for blood on the towels!

Hotel very far from business district. Good rate for very busy week in Montreal. Everything decent except towels and no lotion in the bathroom. All decent hotels have decent towels and lotion in the bathroom.

good value for your buck

I needed a hotel for 1 night (my husbands company paid for a "luxury hotel", but we arrived a day early and needed some where to crash for a night) This hotel did great. It's clean and close to everything.Once we checked into "fairmont/QE" (which is suppsed to be a 4 star hotel) seemed to be comparable, except for pricing. The fairmont was going for $220! Where I found this hotel for 50% less. I definatley recommend it.

good location - needs prepping up

Overall it's ok - basic accomodations - you can tell the place was nice at one time bu a bit tired now... BEST: location...WORST: the kitchen below was constantly frying stuff and had an overwhelming fried food stink in the lobby

LORD BERRI STAY

MY EXPERIENCE WAS NOT BAD DUE TO MY SHORT STAY. WHILE AT LORD BERRI I NEEDED TO SEE A FRIENDLY SMILE AND GREAT GREETING. THAT WOULD OF MADE THE CONSTRUCTION THAT WAS GOING ON INVISIBLE. I DIDN'T NOTICE ANY SIGNS STATING THAT THE HOTEL APOLOGIZES FOR OUR IT'S APPEARANCE WHILE MAKING LORD BERRI BETTER FOR YOU.

Great for couples

The room was very nice. We were on the 10th floor with a nice view of the fireworks that were going on our first night. Each day the room was cleaned spotlessly and the staff were very friendly. We had an extremely good rate for the location of the hotel. The metro is just 2 blocks away and the hotel is on the edge of the latin quarter and the village.

Standard rooms. Clean and comfortable.

Parking was full and lot next door charged $15. per day for overnight stay. Wireless internet access was charged at $10. per day which is high. It was close to Ste. Catherine Street and about a 15 minutes walk to Old Montreal. we like walking so location was not a problem. Staff were friendly and immediately reverted to English when they knew we did not speak French well. Lots of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Subway access 1/2 block away. Main stores in Ste Catherine St,. about a 15 minute walk. Montreal casino, if interested was 1 subway stop from the Berri stop at the corner about 200 yards.

great location

This hotel is located a half a block from the metro. It is also only a couple blocks from the village. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me. The room was very clean and serviced well. All the amenities that I like were included: in-room coffee machine, refrig, microwave. Also had a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. I can do without a fitness center, but perhaps a computer center with a printer could be available. Though I did not bring my laptop on this trip, I think there was free high speed internet available in my room. This was an excellent value for the cost. I would definately try to book this hotel on my next visit to Montreal.

Works for the younger crowd

The Hotel Lord Berri was not quite within walking distance to downtown & Bell Centre area, so taxi (off-hour)-metro(biz hours, stop around the corner) or car is necessary. The hotel only has 10 or so parking spots (first come...) and the parking lot (independent) next door is a rip-off and cash only. Would not bother with lot at all. Used condoms, beer cans, shards of glass... and got blocked in late in the PM as the hotel was not given the key. College neighborhood active at all hours & plenty of noise, but fun for twentysomethings. Not a family place. Wireless laptop did not function locally due to unknown conditions, but worked fine when away from the area. Overall a decent hotel with fair pricing, but parking is a big-time problem and the worst part of my trip.

Lots of cheap dining & bars around the corner on St. Catherine. Urban college area (Univ of Quebec at Montreal) right there.
