Okay for the Weekend

Although the hotel is in a great location near the central bus station, and the Berri-UQAM subway stop, the hotel I think was way overpriced for the type of hotel it was. Though I didn't stay much in the room the entire weekend, the room seemed very small for a one-person room.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

I would recommend the Old Montreal section of the city as it's a very historic part of the city with many dining spots and beautiful architecture from the early days of Montreal

MY IDEAL LODGING

Small, very reasonable no-frills hotel in a row of similar places, but it is very clean, good bed, bad wall art, new wall plaster, and surprisingly a new flat-screen. It does have a hair dryer, too--an unexpected bonus. Continental breakfast of exceptionally good coffee and fresh croissants. Who could ask for anything more?

Clean and cheap place in a good location

The hotel is a decent place if you're looking to leave your luggage and go around the city. I would suggest parking at the Library (5-8 minute walk from the hotel) as you can leave and come back whenever you please ($12 per day).

Ok for the price

Location is good, very close to the subway and Montreal sights. Our room was larger than we had expected. However, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned very well when we arrived and the blanket on one of the beds had cigarette burns on it. WiFi barely worked in our room but was ok in the lobby. The free breakfast consists of coffee/tea and cheap pastries in a large Tupperware container. It's basically what we expected for the price we paid.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a parking garage on the same block as the hotel, a short distance down the street. Cost is $10/24 hours

Oh jesus... where do i start ?

The hotel is in a great location, right next to the bus stop and close to the gay village/restaurants etc. HOWEVER! there are bums and homeless folk hanging around everywhere. They fall on you ... yell and scream at you for money and so on. The hotel staff wasnt very welcoming. The room is TINY but if you want to be cheap and stay close to the bus station then this is great. There is no temperature control knob so we pretty much froze to death all night long. They do not provide you with an iron/ironing board. There is a nasty refrigerator but anyone in their right mind wouldnt use it unless its for liqour. The soap and shampoo they provide you with are the cheapest brand on the planet. its basically a stick of plastic you can rub yourself with and get yourself "clean". The bathroom was gross. The sink was gross. The tiles in the bathroom were broken. I will not be staying here ever again. They only give you one key so if you are going with 2 people then youre pretty much dependent on that 1 room key. oh and theres no elevator. you have to haul your luggage up the stairs.

Good hotel for a good price

I was totally satisfied with the hotel. I didn't expect much from a two star hotel, but the room was clean and cozy, you have complementary breakfast in the morning. The stuff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the bus station, restaurants, and is about 20min walking distance from the Vieux Montreal. If you are looking for a clean and nice hotel for a reasonable price, Hotel Europeenne is what you are looking for!

Great Price, Central Location

Very basic room, but clean. We were lucky to atleast have a back window (no great view--looking out to an inactive bus stand). The rooms on the sides would be windowless because of the common wall buildings. Helpful staff. Ideal location, close to main streets, and 3 minute walk to the Metro. Poor lighting, so bring a good pair of magnifiers to read your maps.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

A short 15-20 minute walk transports one to a thriving, and bustling nightlife in Old Montreal, with plenty of restaurants, and art galaries, and outdoor stalls late into the night.

If you just need a place sleep, shower, and leave your stuff, this place is perfect

I had a fantastic time. This was a bachelor party trip and this hotel won because it was the cheapest. I almost got something else because people were saying this place was a disaster. After staying there, I think some of these reviewers are just overly picky but to each their own. I thought this place was just fine and the bonuses were discovered when we got there. Parking garage was 50 paces away. Convenience/beer store was across the street. Metro with three different lines was two blocks away. Easy access to the Casino, or two separate parts of downtown. If you'd prefer to walk, downtown is still only a twenty/thirty minute walk. Complimentary wifi was helpful to plan the day's events. Bank two blocks away. Tons of pubs, cafés, adult entertainment, and food just a short walk. The rooms were clean. I found the beds to be very comfortable. We were on the 4th floor so the water took a while to get hot sometimes but our group is pretty mellow so that wasn't much of a problem. We really just needed a cheap place to store our stuff, shower, and sleep.

Nice place

Very small, but clean and close to a lot of activities.. Only problem was the language barrier. I'm from NY and do not speak French and the man at the desk barely spoke English so it was difficult checking in.
